I'll keep things short this time.
Last year we spent 4.2 million on rider training and did not improve as a team. Arguably we have gotten worse considering the implications that training brings and financial consequences. As a result of that the sponsors behind the team have issued that we need to change our approach.
Our funding has been cut by a substantial amount and we have been told that spending needs to be adjusted. The goal is to still remain in the Pro Tour, but funds will not be available until proven they can be spent in a more efficient way. The same goes for accruing funds via transfers. A record tax bill will not be tolerated any more.
On a positive note the sponsors are satisfied with the way they represent the Balkan region in the world of cycling. There will be no shift from that standpoint. There are currently enough riders to satisfy our requirements so an increase in regional rider development is not a priority. The priority is to function within our means and become a more efficiently ran team.
We plan to announce our renewals in a few days. There we will discuss the ins and outs of the team in more detail.
Bostjan Mervar,
team representative and general manager of Cedevita

Less money from the sponsors never sounds good :/ Hopefully your guys will be able to turn it around. Pogacar is a great rider on paper and Siric might be the best cost effective rider (before new wages?) in PT

Will be interesting to see what you have in mind for transfers. It seems like you have some ideas to shake things up a bit.

Pretty much the opposite. Sponsors said to take a chill pill.

Every transfer season I hope you go for a big rebuild, as I am sure you have a lot of riders with the right age and wage to be very sellable assets. Think it could be good for your team too to do something about squad size and some leader positions. Obviously Pogacar and Siric are brilliant, the latter being the third best cobbler last season, while Pogacar has all chances to bounce back. That is a leader duo everyone would want, especially with their ages
Good luck for what is to come, I still hope your sponsors change their mind and want a rebuild, also based on sales and trades. Think it would also make for great fun and a couple of hectic weeks for you |

We are pleased to announce that all the riders have renewed their contract with the team. That brings us to a total of 25 riders under contract. The upside is we shouldn't have any problems fielding the minimum requirement of 20 riders. A sizable squad isn't too bad since it helps with things like the Pro Tour triple race clash. On the other hand our misguided transactions from last year and the size of the squad means we are left with next to no cap space.
With that I present the current Cedevita squad.

| 2025 Wage | 2026 Wage | Change | Tadej Pogacar | 700,000 € | 670,000 € | -30,000 € | Jasper Philipsen | 340,000 € | 350,000 € | 10,000 € | Ivan Siric | 210,000 € | 385,000 € | 175,000 € | Michal Schlegel | 200,000 € | 185,000 € | -15,000 € | Pascal Ackermann | 230,000 € | 175,000 € | -55,000 € | Dusan Rajovic | 130,000 € | 110,000 € | -20,000 € | Bachirou Nikiema | 80,000 € | 110,000 € | 30,000 € | Yevgeniy Fedorov | 85,000 € | 100,000 € | 15,000 € | Kristjan Hocevar | 90,000 € | 82,000 € | -8,000 € | Logan Currie | 85,000 € | 85,000 € | - | Martin Papanov | 100,000 € | 85,000 € | -15,000 € | Matic Groselj | 75,000 € | 73,000 € | -2,000 € | Sergio Chumil | 60,000 € | 90,000 € | 30,000 € | Fred Wright | 65,000 € | 90,000 € | 25,000 € | Miha Poljanec | 55,000 € | 50,000 € | -5,000 € | Husein Selimovic | 50,000 € | 60,000 € | 10,000 € | Dorde Duric | 50,000 € | 50,000 € | - | Izidor Penko | 50,000 € | 50,000 € | - | Veljko Stojnic | 50,000 € | 50,000 € | - | Matic Zumer | 50,000 € | 50,000 € | - | Florian Kajamini | 535,000 € | 290,000 € | -245,000 € | Aljaz Jarc | 50,000 € | 50,000 € | - | Daniel Skerl | 120,000 € | 65,000 € | -55,000 € | Aleks Bechkov | 50,000 € | 50,000 € | - | Mohammad Al Mutaiwei | 90,000 € | 55,000 € | -35,000 € | | 2025 Total | 2026 Total | Total Profit | | 3,600,000 € | 3,410,000 € | 190,000 € |
With only 90k of available cap space heading into the transfer season it is clear that some rider transactions will be attempted. But aligned with the directive from the sponsors there are no plans to continue to invest into training either Tadej Pogacar or Ivan Siric.
As a result we expect to have less transactions and less money incoming. The below availability list reflects this current state of operations.
| Rider | Level | Age | Pot | OVL | Wage | Availability | Tadej Pogacar | 4.100 | 28 | 6 | 80.23 | 670k | | Jasper Philipsen | 4.100 | 28 | 6 | 77.69 | 350k | • | Ivan Siric | 4.100 | 28 | 6 | 77.62 | 385k | | Michal Schlegel | 4.100 | 31 | 5 | 76.73 | 185k | ••• | Pascal Ackermann | 4.100 | 32 | 5 | 76.47 | 175k | •••• | Dusan Rajovic | 4.100 | 29 | 3 | 75.49 | 110k | •• | Bachirou Nikiema | 4.100 | 29 | 3 | 75.35 | 110k | •••• | Yevgeniy Fedorov | 4.100 | 26 | 3 | 75.31 | 100k | • | Kristjan Hocevar | 4.100 | 27 | 5 | 74.83 | 82k | ••• | Logan Currie | 4.100 | 25 | 5 | 74.83 | 85k | •••• | Martin Papanov | 4.100 | 27 | 4 | 74.75 | 85k | •• | Matic Groselj | 4.100 | 30 | 4 | 74.43 | 73k |

The most interesting riders aren't on offer, but I guess that's normal We'll probably have a chat or two nonetheless!

I am not sure it is a transfer season without 30 deals involving Cedevita. Tadej feels due for a bounce back which would make all the difference.

I rebuild every year. It's time for a break I guess.

I don't think we ever got past a loan deal threshold. Not the best year for making deals on my side, but looking forward to a chat regardless

I avoided a renewals fine which is nice. But I always come away from renewals thinking I should've done better.

Very cool renewals for you think Siric is vastly underpaid, Tadej on the other hand well.. i do think the increased difficulties of the GT routes this year will help him somewhat he's always going to have a struggle behind Kudus and Herk more well balanced MO/HI range but i don't see why next year as they decline he can't win a GT |
