Finally art the end of this season, 100% not the best for us but this was more down to some planning errors and not quite understanding the game logic as best as I could hopefully next season with a few tweaks we should start to climb the rankings,
Congrats to all the promotion winners a very strong year all round!
Big congrats to the ineviteble promotion! That was just never in doubt!
Some interesting and cool teams going up for sure! But I do miss Spark in the pool of promoting teams though! It came close in the end, but it just took too long for Bennett and co. to fire up the engine Maybe three somewhat similar profiles as main leaders was one too many...
But the team is definately set for promotion next season!
Can't say anything negative about the promoting teams - It was all well played and well deserved, and a great bunch of managers! Big congrats!
If you would asked me at te start of this season I wouldn't be so confidente that my team would go to PCT.
A few years ago I wos much more confident with having Calmejane and Bystrom in my team and both did amazing ob with cobbled part pf the team. Sprint leader was selig and we didn't had any pure GC leader.
This year we had to change team slightly special is much younger compare to last team that we went first time to PCT. Instead of having Calmejane and Bystrom we had Govekar and Korosec for hills,
We had great Clenne Morvan Moulingui as cobbled leader, Jaka Primožič as GC leader, TT specialist Giorgi Nareklishvili, Young Matevž Govekar as hill leader who will be maxed at thee end of this season.
The biggest surprice of all were Michael Vingerling with amazing sprints and gainging 73 points hew was free and Rok Korosec who became leader or more like a beast this year with astonishing 3rd overall (Individual Ranking) with 412 points.
I'm speachles and happy to have this amazing team with me.
Next year will be much more challenging compare to this year as the will need to be some changes in a team.
Thanks Fab for puting up rankings and thaks to everyone wo did the preview and the race report for all this races.
So its disappointing being so close and missing out. If Manada Coyote had scored 5 more points we may have been promoted from disbanding teams but we just miss out. Still it shouldn't be up to disbanding teams for us to promote. Bottom line is we really just weren't good enough.
Bennett was great but should have been better earlier. Davila did well in 1 or 2 races but his big race was Tachira with 3rd GC and then he never really took off after that. Scott and Mugway should have gotten a win, especially Scott. So close so many times and the amount of 2nds was ridiculous. Finally Beltran showed promise and won a stage and did well in hills but not well enough. Yates also disappointed.
With our non promotion it becomes tough in terms of the decisions we make. We have a rider that can now probably lead a CT team in stage races but has 1 more year of development and if we delay that it could be detrimental for his and the teams future. However, if we loan him out then we have a lot of money to spend on his loan plus we have to somehow field a competitive team.
Do we keep Scott and try and train him to make him more competitive, are riders like Bennett still going to be useful next season. All of this needs to be figured out. Its hard when you go all in for a promotion and pull up short.
I'd also like to say congratulations to all the teams especially Newton and Mre who just were outstanding this season. I hope to see you in the near future in the higher divisions!
On to next season and the planning starts to figure out how we are going to get the job done with or without Rodriguez next season.
