[C1] Isle of Man TTT
Welcome to the Isle of Man to the biggest TTT in the PCT circuit. We have only 15 teams at the start (8 from PCT and 7 from CT) - no wonder regarding the special kind of squad you need here, but be assured that those teams that are here are highly motivated.
The TTT squads will start in Douglas, the capital of Man, and – after some loops – mainly follows the route of the infamous Isle of Man TT (for those of you not into Motorsports: the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy): the first part leads westwards to the sole checkpoint in St. Johns. From there the route leads to the north-east and the town of Ramsey.
After being an ITT for most of its long history the race became a TTT for last year’s edition. Jura GIANTS took the win, but won’t be able to defend their title after being promoted to PT. The same goes for runner-up Los Pollos Hermanos (now Oxxo-Frisby), while the third podium finisher Glanbia was relegated. So this isn’t a race for teams hoping for a solid and quiet midtable season.

There are no filler teams at the start this year as every single squad has a total average above 71 and nearly all a top 5 average above 74. So we can hope for a close race this year. But the clear favourites overall are ELCO – ABEA who lead in all categories. Their closest competitors will probably be Minions and Podium Ambition.

Hopefully our balance unit can deliver here. Pretty tight field so anything could happen!

happy to see that the old rule of entering the TTT for free points still works. Happy here no matter how we finish grabbing some points |

We're hoping that balanced strategy works here too. In particular, I think strength of 5th might be the tiebreaker point in my decisions between top favorites.
We've predicted ourselves 8th, but would love to find way to a top 5 and to be the best of CT - although I think Genii will take that here.
One of the races I look forward to most.

Surprised to see us so far up the list of favorites. Our TTT squad is by no means bad but I did not think it would be podium contender either. We'll see

That was not what we wanted. Positive side, bad results only lead to better renewals prices and we had no survival chances. Still, 10th is a chunk below what i thought we could get here. We need to scout out a top tier TT'er in the future to go with this depth.

A shame to lose places from the intermediate to the finish and especially to miss out on a few spots by just a second or two. Either way, overperformed expectations and tells us that our strategy for the upcoming season is still possible.
6th is an improvement over last year, not the top CT team this year though which is a tad sad. Hopefully we can change that in Monterrey.
Either way, I've been looking forward to this race since the season started. This was the first indication of whether we could find success at all and it's a sign in the positive direction. Expect to see this lineup more than a couple more times this year.

Won’t you just love it when an investment past off? Brilliant stuff!
This is/was THE key race for me all season. So really pleased we pulled it off. Also it bodes well for a few other races where TTT is a key element in delivering my leader for GC.

Huh, 9th place is okay I guess, at least 20 points in the bag.
Congrats to SotD and thank you so much for the report kandesbunzler! |
