Tao is again in the role of our team's #2 leader. He has a tough task ahead of him. The team time-trial is not as strong this year and in general the calendar changes haven't done him any favours. Furthermore we are again asking him to lead us in one of the Grand Tours, which happens to be the Giro this year.

Ivan Siric steps into the 3rd leader role following his offseason training. Despite being a completely different rider type Ivan has the unenviable task of filling Enger's big shoes after the great season he had last year. The main focus will be the cobbled classics, especially the two monuments. The sprint classics are more of a free hit where maybe he can attack the race. Similar with stage races like Nederland and Northern Europe, getting into the breakaway is probably the best chance at scoring more than the minimum.

Somewhat to our own surprise we had better success with our goals last year than we anticipated. Has that made us overconfident or can we continue in a similar manner? Hopefully the former.
Last year we thought we would rely mainly on Tadej Pogacar for the goals, but in the end despite our transfers not going exactly to plan we were able to rely on other riders to help us achieve our goals. With Tadej improving as a climber as we hoped he would. we will very much rely on him now.
Paris-Nice is the obligatory win goal. Our team time-trial is not as good as last year, but similar to Ukraine last year we'll try to at least get within arm's of the win. The Giro will be another difficult one. Geoghegan Hart is not really a Grand Tour specialist, so another overall top 10 finish will not be easy. At the same time Tadej will be in Liechtenstein for the mountain classic. He already finished in the top 10 there last year, so this is the one goal in which we're very confident in. With Tadej also returning to the Tour de France we are upping the ante and aiming for a top 5 place in the overall. Finally we'll try to repeat our top 10 team standing from last year.

Am I mistaken or does that Siric schedule mean that he has quite a few RDs left?
Curious whether that was a conscious decision to keep him away from possible sprint finishes due to his ACC or if the number of unmaxed riders demanded more RDs to level up nicely or what the thought process was there?

It's the same for any cobbler, there aren't that many RDs to use. I filled the race spots with either unmaxed riders or ones that can actually do something in a given race/stage. I don't recall the game ever treating him as a sprinter so why bother.

I guess i just like his stats outside the cb stat (Fl+energy stats+solid hi) too much that i would search for races to throw him into the lineup. Give me Siric with all the same stats but only 70CB and i happily use (almost) all his RDs
but i am also used to having no leftover RDs across the roster anyway so might not be the best judge of sth like this lol

Martin Hvastija:
It's the season opener so we want to get off to a good start. Dusan will get his first chance to sprint for a top 10 result, but the main scoring should come from our time-trialists. Either Steven or Tao can hopefully finish in the top 10 depending on how stage 2 pans out. It's a nice first race for the likes of Riley Sheehan and Logan Currie.
