Paris Tours - Preview
24 Teams from across the Pro and Pro Continental divisions meet South-West of the City of Love for a long, flat one-day classic. At a touch under 234km, it will be a real test of the physical ability of the riders, even though it is not all that challenging. It is worth noting that it's not pancake flat as there are a few bumps late on which may hinder the chase.
There is a long list of riders who could win this but the top favourite is definitely John Degenkolb who has a team full of strong support, especially from Harrison, Contreras, Santos and Baska. This will undoubtedly put a lot of pressure on the team to chase down breakaways though.
Ivano Lo Cicero is a great sprinter but he may lack the physical ability to put in a sprint after such a long race, especially if it's raced quickly.
Van der Lijke and Groenewegen are more than capable of taking a win here and have some support as well.
Eislers may be a surprise package here as he does have the physicals to contest a sprint after a long day in the saddle. He will definitely be one to watch.

Wild how much reporting you're currently doing LLS, thank you very much!
I'm looking forward to this, big points from Silvestre would be highly appreciated. Everything from a win to 15th place is probably on the table, a Top 5 would be awesome. That's a big ask with that much competition, but he's done it before ...

The one big sprinters' race that Van Poppel gets to lead the team. Let's see if he steps up to the occasion.

Go Go Go Groenewegen. As previous winner, iirc it was his first ever one day race win and one of the very first for my team as well.
Hopefully the late attackers won't make too much damage.
Thanks for reporting, looking forward to it |

Another flat classic, another chance for Eislers. Hoping for a top5 here and some action from our flat beasts.

A key target for Degenkolb and the team. He secured 5th last season, so matching that or better really has to be the minimum aspiration.
Looks like we might be responsible for controlling the BotD, and hopefully have the riders to do so in the shape of the likes of Mraouni and Sagiv earlier on with still enough reserves to deal with the inevitable late attacks/sprint set-up as required (fingers crossed). Interested to see how this pans out as a bunch sprint is by no means guaranteed as history has shown here previously.

LLS' PCM doesn't like Reinhardt lately, so I have to expect a zero-pointer. Maybe Boudat pulls off a surprise in his home classic, but both sprinters have been far off the expectations this year - and with that competition every point must be considered a success.
Thanks for the preview & report anyway.

Great memories from last year, with SKA snatching the win. We don't have a top sprinter, so understandably not in the table of the best sprinters, but hope we can try a few attacks towards the end and get a good result.

This is our last flat classic. We've been terrible in all of them, so I've pretty much given up on them. So at least it's over.
Thanks for preview

We've got no sprinter here, and the field is better than we've experienced previously this year in flat races. That makes it a race of no expectations.
Yzeiraj has proven earlier that he can be able to attack late in such races. Would be very cool to see him try something here too, any coverage of our team here is a bonus |

Posting here now because reading the first part of the post reminded me that we were here! Thought this was PT instead of PTHC for some reason and discounted it. Wanted to acknowledge a great preview first!
I usually don't do pure flat classics given how stacked the fields are and how random they can be, but we have AKA here, and we'll be hoping for a lot. A good performance could be key in helping us rebound from a poor August. A bad one could be the end of those chances.

Aww man, 16th for Silvestre is heartbreaking. I would have thought the way the race played out would have suited him, given his high flat stat, and he was around the front for a bit, but perhaps too much too early? Not being able to compete in that sprint at all is certainly a disappointment. But what can you do. As this was his last race (other than Vilnius), I can draw a conclusion to his season and that is still incredibly positive.
Thanks for the report once again, and congrats to ISA, great win by Degenkolb!

Aaaaaaaaaaand that's why I don't do flat classics.
95th for AKA. 77 flat couldn't even keep him in the front group apparently. 0 pointer in a PTHC classic... what are you gonna do? Can only chuckle and move on.
Congrats to ISA!

Solid attack by Wisniowski. Not a big result for us, but decent depth. Can't count on the late attacks to often, and we've already got a win from SKA in Koln earlier this season. Congrats to ISA!

Nothing special, but Katrasnik was at least near the front at the end and we scored some points with that.
Thanks for yet another report LLS
