Thank you redordead for the preview!!!!
The 6th edition of the Betonexpressz GP. As one of the sprinting classics of the CT division, this is a longer race than usual CT races. With 211 km the riders stamina will be tested, as well as their top speed. The race starts with some flat kilometres as a warm up, then features a short hilly circuit that has to be negotiated 4 times. After that we have a longer circuit of gently undulating roads with a small hill thrown in for good measure. The finish line comes after descending the aforementioned hill for the 5th time and some false flat rise in the last few kilometres.
Let's look at some of the favourites:
Sprinter | FL | RS | SP | AC | Lead out | FL | RS | SP | AC | Jakobsen | 74 | 73 | 80 | 80 | Ovsyannikov | 72 | 72 | 77 | 76 | Kump | 73 | 72 | 80 | 79 | Redecker | 73 | 67 | 77 | 78 | Selig | 71 | 68 | 79 | 81 | Keukeleire | 71 | 66 | 79 | 77 | Appollonio | 74 | 66 | 81 | 78 | Bauhaus | 74 | 65 | 78 | 75 | Nelson | 71 | 63 | 80 | 80 | Bennett | 71 | 68 | 79 | 79 | Marin | 74 | 73 | 78 | 78 | Jimenez Retana | 64 | 65 | 68 | 71 | Habtom | 75 | 75 | 77 | 78 | Stocker | 75 | 73 | 76 | 77 | Tivani | 70 | 78 | 77 | 78 | Rathe | 73 | 71 | 74 | 76 | Vanderbiest | 73 | 67 | 81 | 75 | Krieger | 71 | 74 | 79 | 79 | Bogdanovics | 73 | 69 | 78 | 77 | Cimolai | 74 | 68 | 77 | 77 | Suryadi | 71 | 68 | 79 | 76 | Nur Hasan | 70 | 72 | 75 | 74 | Ranneries | 69 | 63 | 77 | 80 | Schorn | 75 | 63 | 76 | 75 | Alaphilippe | 72 | 69 | 77 | 77 | Welten | 72 | 68 | 74 | 73 | Kristoff | 72 | 66 | 80 | 74 | Prasad | 74 | 74 | 77 | 79 | Rajovic | 71 | 75 | 76 | 80 | Groselj | 76 | 76 | 72 | 71 |
If we look at the stats then this should be a contest between Jakobsen and Kump. Of course it's never just about stats. There plenty other capable sprinters such as Selig, Appollonio, Nelson or Marin. The majority of the sprinters don't have good lead outs. Most of them are too strong. In fact we won't be surprised if the sprinter and lead out roles are reversed in some teams. Then again we'll see if any trains actually form. Crabbe have a whole army of sprinters here and will hope for some depth scoring like in their cobbles races.
| FL | HI | ST | RS | AC | FT | Katrasnik | 81 | 63 | 72 | 76 | 72 | 81 | Frankovic | 74 | 71 | 71 | 78 | 76 | 66 | Calmejane | 74 | 77 | 73 | 76 | 76 | 78 | Naesen | 75 | 72 | 77 | 73 | 76 | 64 | Juul-Jensen | 73 | 78 | 76 | 74 | 79 | 80 | Groselj | 76 | 66 | 73 | 76 | 71 | 69 | Meyer | 74 | 79 | 74 | 71 | 77 | 77 | Ballerini | 73 | 71 | 73 | 71 | 80 | 74 | Ratto | 79 | 60 | 74 | 66 | 73 | 55 | Yzeiraj | 77 | 66 | 74 | 74 | 71 | 85 | Peng | 75 | 64 | 74 | 73 | 73 | 63 | Poljanec | 77 | 69 | 70 | 68 | 71 | 69 | Videika | 74 | 65 | 68 | 67 | 79 | 51 |
A late attack is possible on this slightly bumpy profile. Naesen managed to win this race last year by countering some late attacks. In terms of pure rouleur power it's Katrasnik that stands out among the rest. Frankovic is another strong and speedy rider. And if anyone wants to use the small rises on the road then the likes of Calmejane, Juul-Jensen and Meyer are perfect for that role.

Would love to see Juul-Jensen animate the race a little bit, if he manages to make it difficult enough to make an impact.

Another chance for Tivani to show that he deserves to get paid next year.

Great preview red and looking forward to another great Nemo report!!
I'm definitely a little bit concerned with how this might go after the late attacks in the last flat CT classic. Hopefully we, and other teams, are better able to control the race and can give Jakobsen a chance to deliver.
A podium for Jakobsen is definitely the target and I hope the team can deliver such!
Good luck to all though

Thanks for preview . I believe Bennett was 7 th last 2 years.
I'll probably be punished for bringing a full sprint team here. Targeting a top 3 but a top 5 would be acceptable

Nice to be back racing after a relatively long break! Hopefully Kump does well here but as we know sprints are a bit of a wash this year. Thanks for the preivew!

Bam in with a shot at a top-10 here! He’s done alright this season so would love to see him do well here. Supported by Nur Hasan too. Might even see an all Indonesian train?
Thanks for the preview! Gonna be hard to get past Jakobsen here

We've already scored our share of C2 points through an unexpected great result in Ras Tailteann. So no pressure on this race. Saying that, I would love to see us pull off a good result from a late attack at least once this season
Thanks for the preview

We're here with a team of rouleurs, it's obvious what kind of race we hope for. We've got several guys who could be able to attack deep in the final here and aim at a good result that way. Obviously risky, but there's no other way for us, so hopefully that means they'll understand we had to do something |

Meh, I would've preferred if we put someone in the early breakaway. No idea why we were chasing given our lineup
Looks like there wasn't many chances of attacking today. Katrasnik really can't get it going this season. I hoped he would pull off at least one good result. Well I think we have one more flat classic left, so hope remains I guess
Congrats to Trans and thanks for the report Nemo

Congrats to Trans, a good win
Suryadi so close! Thought he had it being in front on a downhill finish with 400m to go. Still a good showing especially with youngins Wibisono and Yudha in the break too.
Thanks for the report!

Thanks Nemo, well done Trans.
Very happy with 3rd for Nelson, less so with 88th for Bennett!

Nice report, thanks! Was looking mighty fine for a bit but in the end with a 4th and a 7th we still get a good amount of points here, congrats to Trans on a nice win!

Relentless from the sprinter teams towards the end, leaving no room for attacks. A pity!
Congratulations to TLT and Selig on the win, big result outside the cobbles! |

Really positive to see the Peloton ensure it came down to a sprint at the end!!
Not quite the podium I was targeting but we'll take 5th for Jakobsen and 10th for Ovsya. Probably Jakobsen's best performance in the CT itself this season ironically
Thank you for a really good report and congrats to Trans on a great result for Selig!
