No real WTF picks so far, perhaps they will come in the final bunch Smile

HelloFreshwith a great draft by getting Battaglin and Redecker despite drafting so late in the first round. Great value.

Lilovski was my WTF how is he still available pick, not sure about his individual scoring potential but as a hill support rider with plenty of years in him I'm surprised he wasn't picked up before the draft.

Gillett is a very solid pickup as well, reminds me a lot of Brüngger last season. But that 77 Ftr definitely looks tasty Smile
Andersen... as much as I love teams getting regional talents, I don't know if a Pot 3 rider is the best way to go. But they might just have already enough quality on board, have honestly not followed all their transfers Embarassed

Strava wants all of them low back-up climbers. Grin

I really looked over and over again to see if I could justify taking Anderson on as a stagiare, ultimately decided against it. Glad another young Dane gets a ride and some XP this year.

Ziesler is a guy always on the cusp of getting a contract. He had some quite decent performances for the World Cycling Centre amateur team a couple of years ago, that Scorchio and I managed.

Ziesler scored 6 points for Gjensidige last season. They didn't renew him - but they've now drafted him instead.

At 35 years old, Gerald Ciolek is the oldest rider to be drafted. He was with Duolingo last year, and we thought that could be it for his career - Eddie Stobart have decided otherwise!

Jianhua Ji was one of the trailblazers for strong Asian cyclists in the MG. ISA - Hexacta kept him in the PT despite one decline, they didn't want him after a 2nd, but Strava have taken him.

And the Irish team takes a Level 1 Irish rider!

Will no one really take Boev? Shock

Hadn't even realized that Ciolek has gotten so old... I'm afraid with his really low Acc he won't be getting lots of points; at least he mostly did a horrible job for Duolingo last year iirc. Let's hope sutty can still squeeze something out of him!
Ji might not even be that bad, but as Croatia said, the backups aren't any good :S

The Irish climbing talent though... Definitely a pick with local focus, as with Pot 2 and low backups I guess he's going nowhere Sad

I don't understand how riders like Ciolek are chosen and one of the best available riders like Kupfernagel hasn't been selected yet.

You can't leave him hanging.

Also from an Isostar/Adriatic perspective I am very much missing Kamil Gradek and Rasmus Mygind. Yes, not the flashiest rider, but both could score loads of points in CT if planned smartly imo (and have done in the past). Gradek especially was an amazing dom for a PT winning team, can't see how no CT team wants to pick his versatility up on the several terrains he covers well including a big Acc to attack.

Personally, I'm happy to see Ciolek get one final ride. Smile

But yeah, why take him, or most of the other sprinters, over Kupfernagel.

Van Tricht is a very interesting rider, have him max at 74 Mo 75 Hi 77Acc and good back-ups, which will make for a very nice attacker once maxed. Good job by Crabbe-CC with the focus nation picks!

Van Tricht is a good pick I'd say. Surely no top talent, but with high Res and Acc could develop into a nice breakaway rider. Hilly sprinter looks like the most obvious option, let's see how the local team will develop him Smile

Well if you were looking the final four picks to include any of the 'big' names going as yet undrafted, well they haven't gone that way.

Van Tricht could developed into a Hill or Sprint domestique. Arvidsson had an Amateur contract in 2019, and a Hill/TT combination isn't a bad thing to have.

Boy van Poppel is picked up after his first decline.

The final pick is Cristofer Robin Jurado. The Panama rider is the final Central American signing for Volcanica - and a link between the two Volcano teams, as he was a stagiare for Vesuvio in 2017. He rode with Reddit for 2018, but has sat out the past 2 seasons.

And the draft is done. Nobody wanted Boev!

That's a free 138 points that none will get!

Fabianski
Arvidsson another good pickup, solid dom for the hillier races and good TTT asset.

But then again - why van Poppel when much more solid sprinters are available? OK, he can at least do somewhat decent in prologues, but still...

Is Jurado the only Pot 1 guy with a contract in the entire peloton? Base stats look nice, but he just can't get anywhere I fear... ^^

And this means that some really juicy riders remain available for the Amateurs, which will gladly take them I'm sure Smile
