Why is Thor left out of the discussion? I think he'll be a challenge for the rest. He will go all the way to Paris. And don't forget how he finished last year... He showed progress in the Giro, so just wait and see. |

right on, credit agricole worked well last year chasing down the breaks for thor and i feel he is one of the strongest sprinters out there, he is guaranteed to finish and i can see him in yellow early and green come paris, and who knows maybe Botcharov will do something in the mountains/breaks....ok maybe im getting to excited, but c.a will be best french team yet again |

Its nice this year that there are a lot more lesser riders who could be considered to challenge for that points jersey. Whilst McEwen is really the favourite, there are lots who could snatch it from him

Had to laugh/cringe at a local news report about Haussler. He was born in Inverell near where I live and so when he won a stage of the Dauphine Libere, cycling actually got some coverage on the news, fair enough.
But the great bit was when they then went on to say that he had now become one of the favourites to win the Tour de France where he would ride for the "GERALD STEINER" team.
OUCH!! Just another example of the clueless nature of the Australian media (outside of the amazing SBS) when it comes to cycling!
McEwen is also my firm favourite for green, but it will be interesting to see what Hushovd and maaaybe Davis can do. Pettachi won't be there and I just don't see Boonen performing regularly in the bunch sprints, though I could be proven wrong... |

there are no riders that can take the green jersey other then McEwen or Freire, in my opinion, unless something terrible happens and they don't make it to Paris
Hushovd just isn't as good as McEwen and Freire
and i'm sorry but Haussler doesn't stand a chance
and as Alex says, AG2R are the best French team, you can't be a good team without good stage racers, and they've showed they have some great ones (nothing compared to Vino, and them but still) in Dessel, Calzati did well, and Moreou among others
sorry about the spelling |

You're wrong, when he is at the world championship he is in Norway's colors not green . So not always, almost always . |

c.a were the best ranked french team in last years pro tour, as for hushovd not being good enough to win green, he has won it in the past, and last year got cut on one stage and pulled his foot from the pedal on a stage last year and still finished with one foot, also the way he won the final stage by blowing Mcewan away was pure power. Hushovd for gree, no questionor your money back |

And sometimes he's in yellow like last year.
I'm a big fan of Hushovd as well although he hasn't shown good form this year. I do hope he does well on Saturday though as he's my third favorite sprinter (behind Stuart O'Grady and Erik Zabel). Unlike those guys, I think Thor has a chance for some stage wins this year. |
