Its TDF time. I always wanted to start a thread like this. Come here and discuss all things american!

One thing that stood out as teams released their start lists for the TDF is the exclusion of Bobby Julich from Team CSC.

This leaves

Zabriskie
VandeVelde
Horner
Rodriguez
Leipheimer
Hincapie

for the tour.

With all that said, I'm pretty juiced about Levi's chances this year. I put in a nice bet on him winning the gc. I figure he's one of the top 3 and that 10-1 is a pretty good price.

Can Z win the prologue or any other ITT stages?

Can Horner or Hincapie or VandeVelde break away gain 20 minutes and be a threat?

What will Bobby J do? Be a contender in the Vuelta?

Will Fast Freddy be fast for once?

Will Landis win his appeal?

I bet they didnt put Julich in the TDF team because they were worried he would go too fast on roundabouts!

as a friend of mine noticed very well: the two times he won TTs in grand tours he was immensely helped by the wind changing direction between his ride and the GC riders' ride.

I think he has a shot, but I very much doubt he'll win any.
especially after he's trained so much to be a climber. his TT skills have suffered immensely. which is only natural

the first two maybe. any sporting director who knows Vande Velde will know better than to let him gain any time.

Actually, USA is 2nd on our "most visiting countries"-list, so a topic like this is needed Wink
