Matthias Kessler had been positively controlled for testosterone on April 24th 2007 by a surprise control in Charleroi. He is suspended by the team with immediate effect
terrible news?
Of cause an Astana rider
It´s also looking bad for Petacchi |

which is typical of UCI. by law they must stay silent until the B sample results are out. once again, they didn't. a**holes...

thought i would post CrueTrue's link in here seen as it has it's own thread now
https://www.team-astana.eu/e/actualite...php?id=595
this pretty much proves the theory that everyone from Astana is doped
obviously i hope that theory isn't true, as i like a lot of their riders but when one team member gets accused it's hard not to start questioning the whole team

I find it hard not to believe that he was doped with T-Mobile as well. Remember the Tour stage some years ago, he crashed into a fence and almost broke his back - completed the stage nevertheless... Gontchar showed signs of doping as well. Maybe Kessler was simply kicked out because of Stapletons new approach. |

from the other thread on this:

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...
Kessler and Klöden were all set to renew their contracts until the new management announced the strict doping controls...then they suddenly announced that they were "leaving because the team refused to renew the contracts of key helpers badly needed for the mountains of the tour".
as far as I can tell, they were the only good climbers who left. other than kohl, but kohl was offered a new contract and declined.
the sad thing is...besides them there's still two other teams that I'm sure are doping in an organized fashion. but that's going into a subjective area, so I won't name names.
