After a very calm stage everyone will have good legs for tomorrow, however the riders will find a hard stage with rough weather. For me though, breakaway roulette!

Hoping you're wrong and we get some GCf fighting. Otherwise kind of a waste of a weekend.

I think GC fight will happen but... Only final kilometer, wouldn't expect much!

Four years ago the differences were minimal on that climb, but this year hopefully we could get some more action with all the uncertainty around future mountain stages or even the continuity of the race itself. Next stage for possible big differences is the time trial and I don't think the main contenders will want to have to recover more than a minute for Almeida, considering what he did in the first stage and how well he has ridden.

I'll be rooting for him, though, and for a Guerreiro breakaway show. Cool

I think Portuguese winning and Portuguese in pink is possible tomorrow!

After the first rest day the race finally goes into raid territory. Although it hasn't been given much importance tomorrow's stage is deceivingly hard, I play breakaway roulette again and also discuss what can happen to the GC riders!

After today's epic win by Sagan we should have another exciting fast finish tomorrow in Rimini still by the Adriatic. It will be a day of relief for the climbers but one of serious pressure for the sprinters!

Tomorrow is a breakaway roulette!!!

One of those days, danger is present, GC raid is possible but we expect an exciting day to be fought between the stage-hunters and there are several types of riders who can battle it out.

Sprinters, puncheurs, climbers, stage-hunters, everyone coming forward!

Tomorrow's profile has several scenarios that can happen, a very open stage where the peloton will decide what happens.

Tomorrow is a very important day GC wise as the first big gaps are set to happen between the big favourites. This weekend will dictate who is here to fight for the win and put everyone in order.

It's so odd, yet natural in 2020, to say that tomorrow I'm expecting to see the confirmation of Almeida and Kelderman as the guys to beat in this Giro. Who would have thought? Grin

Also McNulty inside top-6 GC tomorrow. Cool

Yellow Jersey
Man to beat is Nibali I reckon, but lots of riders are better than him in these two weeks, problem is he was never distanced and Sunday enters his domain.

FreitasPCM
I still think Nibali's the biggest favourite, but speaking in terms of time gained tomorrow, I think he will have to recover at least 1.30 to Almeida or Kelderman, depending if he has a good day or not tomorrow. He'll always look at that first place, but he (and everyone) needs to drop them quickly. Will be a fun weekend, at least!

Tomorrow is a holy day. The culmination of the "spring" classics, we have a set of favourites that is shockingly good, several incredible teams, I could go on...

On the Flandrien bergs the 4th and last monument will be decided, I can't wait!

After the time-trial the race officially enters the Alps. It's a hard hard stage, I reckon for most will be a test but some big gaps can be made the fight for the win enters a new phase.

Easy to forget with the Giro on full force but tuesday begins the Vuelta a Espana and you need to know what the riders hopefully will be riding over 18 days in Spanish roads!

The big overall preview of the Vuelta!

18 days of racing in Spanish roads, lots of mountains, lots of little hills, iconic places all across the race and a whole lot of stars at the start of the season's last Grand Tour and also race!

Another excellent preview, really enjoy reading them. It’s quite a strange looking first week and that first stage will be critical for sure. A name that you didn’t mention which I have my eyes on is Dani Martinez (was on the startlist, at least), the first week might suit Woods better than him but if he’s got the legs from Dauphine he can be that 2020 type of surprise. Pfft

Great read! Hard to look past Jumbo here as you noted. They all rode the Tour and classics, but so did a lot of their competitors. Will be interesting to see how that factors in.

Obviously I hope you're wrong about Dan Martin. Looked a lot better during the classics season and could surprise. Vuelta always suited his skillset better than other GT's, and he had that bad crash at Dauphine that probably held him back at the Tour. Plus, team support is less relevant when you know a mountain train from another team is coming imo.

Of course, he's no longer at his peak, and the field is stacked. But I think he could easily top 10 and maybe more.

Thanks guys!

Freitas yeah I didn't mention Martinez cause EF as usual don't announce their lineups in logic time. BBL for sure Martin can do it! His form was clearly on the ride, Top10 maybe even Top5 is very possible if he keeps it and doesn't have a bad day, only needs to have an at least decent TT.
