Idea:Sorting in Custom Teams
Explanation of idea:On the riders list for a custom team, being able to sort by average, cost, nationality etc. It's annoying sorting through the riders you've selected in order to trim out the team, or pick through any weakness (maybe I should have more sprinters, maybe I can drop some of the more expensive riders etc)
Why?:Quality of life. It's not a complex addition but damn would it make everyone's life easier when sorting a team. I forgot I selected a specific rider, then was wondering why I couldn't find them to add to my team! Not being able to sort by average, name etc just makes it more difficult to get the team set up.
When you can't decide between two options, flip a coin. Not because the result of the coin will choose for you, but because, in that split second before the coin lands, you'll know what side you want it to fall on.

Idea: Display of rider development

The only thing I saw in game to track rider development is the evolution tab on his personal info window.

That's kind of crappy, because you have to click through all riders manually in order to get an idea how they developed. That means three clicks per rider (open rider info window, click evolution, close info window again, open next one aso.). On top of that, I feel the evolution graphics are quite hard to understand, because you don't see any clear numbers, but have to guess. And it only shows improvement for a certain role but not detailed attribute changes.

Instead, it would be nice to have a "development" screen which basically looks like the squad->attributes screen but which shows how much each attribute changed in the last training update. Just a green or red number behind every attribute would do.

Idea: AI withdrawals
Explanation of idea: Especially in one-day races, the riders would give up more easily. This could be attributed to the fighter value.
Why (No one word or some word posts): It doesn't make sense to get dropped in the first quarter of one-day race and continue to the end, nor the finishing count in one-day races is mainly too high.

Idea: Roster strength graph on custom team creation
Explanation of idea: When selecting teams (or during career) you can see a graph of the strengths of each team. I would like this to be shown during the creation of a custom team for career.
Why: It helps to ensure that your team is well-balanced or specialized the way you want it.

Idea: - bring back being able to see what attributes on a rider can improve, so you know how best to train them.

Explanation of idea: In older version you could tell which attributes were maxed out or had very little room to improve, and which could see some growth, but in 2017 (and I assume 2018) that is gone?

Why: It sure would help. As it is I have to go into the editor to see how to train some of the guys who have reached full POT in their specialty but still have room to grow in other areas.

Idea: Animations,Commentary and stats and game[theres more but i think this is a good starting point.

Explanation Animations:animation in pcm are slowly getting better.But the obvious stuff.biggest is finishes.Sprint finishes should have a button for the rider to push his bike forward[this would need timing from the user of course].Chain problems should be added.Pro Cyclist hands are locked in one position,add finger shifts for gear changes,celebrations must have more diverse hand movements like waves and showing number 1.Even body pushes while fighting for postion should be shown.[got a long list but i wanna keep this as short as possible]

Commentary: Let the commentators talk about generic news mid race. Like Valverde winning world championship or a historic win in the race or even about who the contenders for the stage or race are and why.Way too much material for that for it not to be done.Have a list of names that you record with the commentators for pro cyclist mode.Atleast get 20 names and surnames from each nation that the commentators will mention.People fastforward through 80% of your game,this might keep them engaged.Paleton or escape group chatter,like warnings about road hazards and so on.Pro cyclist can also have your race manger giving you advice mid race like in the nascar games.

Stats: The games stats are okay,but its irritating for me a 82 flat flat at 91 effort to get chased down by a 72 flat at 99 effort and get caught in just a few seconds.Just as climbers with 77 can completely leave behind a group of 71-74 for some time and someimes only catch up with the leader after the group has shed some riders.The same logic should be applied to the flats.The chase should last way longer and sometimes result in a one man break away.Otherwise i know i just need 70 or so on the flat and hope for good condition race.Also out of the box,can we have a bike control stat that decreases or increases chances of falling and avoiding crashes.Fighter stat can attribute to a riders ability to force his way into position.

Game : Have achievements that unlock you a reputation banner.Like how Cancellara was called spartacus and Cavendish called the macs missile.These can be used for online.Final lap bell.Commentators Excitement during the finish. Different podium ceremonies.Winners circle cinematic[after you win all the players who come congratulate you and so on]Could be part of podium cinematic.Basically mix fifa for body,Nba for commentary and car games like nascar for the road.

Why Because theres not much different to the untrained eye about your game since 2013-2018.The lack of licenses is also killing it.With wishes on my list alone you could probably go from "Its just a big update" comments to "Undoubtedly one of the biggest sports games out there".This game was a good idea.But sadly a competitor with my ideas could sweep your market from you if you keep with the tiny fixes. Understand that on the coding side you may have a lot of work,but your targets dont care.They want BIG changes they can see.Like pro cyclist mode

Idea: Team leaders and their instuctions should change mid race..I had the team coach/manager choose a rider who was below me in stats but maybe he just calls the right shots[So I thought].During the race,there was a break in the paleton,he used a considerable amount of energy to get back while I was practically unhindered by the break.Had he not fallen behind,he might've made it but he was hanging by a thread.He told me to catch the break away but i was the teams last hope.I didnt get any exp points for top 10 due to not listening to stupid orders.

Stop unreasonable race objectives.Was given an objective to work for a rider far inferior than I was.Also to break away in a one day race during the last 60km because it had a flat finish which was my strong point.Ofcourse tthe likes of van avermaet and valverde wouldnt let me get away.

Explanation: Had I listened we would've lost by a large margin and potentially lost any chance back into contention.

I was even worse than their teamate in the hills.Which meant no break away.

WhyMid race strategy change-This lost me exp points.

Unreasonable race objectives-No break away,no points= no progression.I ended up too tired to even fight in the flats.No exp,no win.Made for a terrible race session.

The race instructions should change with the situation and ability.If the manager cant choose who to trust because the situation is equally bad,then let him release you and make you a free element.:lol:

Idea: Add the right-click function back into planning.

Explanation of idea: Just as it was in PCM17 I suggest something so simple t shouldn't be ignored. Like most people I assume, I don't have the riders' form evolution based on the objectives so I make taylor-made programs for each rider in the begining of the season. Which was easy and quick, BUT, in PCM18, with the single feature of not having that right-click I'm having to spend like the double ammount of time doing it, it makes planning so slow and sloggish (when it already is a slow task). And the answer is very very simple, just the right-click, instead of moving 1 week forward, moves a month.

Why: It's something that is so simple and makes life so much easier. Plus it doesn't take any innovation as it already was in the game.

Idea: Change the fatigue system. Make racing and being 90%+ form create fatigue.

Explanation of idea: So I'll say it right away, the game is too easy. I can literally have a rider with 90%+ form from february to october without having any fatigue issues. Unless my team is made of 30 Valverdes this just won't happen. I never have to race with my leaders below 85% form, non-WT racing doesn't contribute in anything, not even worth using them as preparation races cause I don't gain anything from it (except gaining the race). I mean realistically speaking, a rider should have some peaks during the season, but have also some resting periods, some periods of low form during the season. Froome/Nibali are great examples, GC riders, they rarely have a very good form in stage-racing outside of the GT's. Having good form is fatiguing. And racing makes no difference in fatigue in the game also, a way of racing being more fatiguing than training should be implemented, I don't even need to explain why.

Why: This is something that is "hacked" by everyone smart enough. 3weeks on 100% training, 1week with 0%.. fatigue will never go above 50% if well planned, you get rider with constant top form. It just makes it so easy, I want challenges, I want to have to make an effort, to work on the riders' form and preparation, and feel like I'm actually building up to something. Playing like this is like there's no form involved as I always have it almost on the maximum.

Idea: Had non-World Tour goals for WT teams.

Explanation of idea: So yes, some teams do have PCT goals, but let's face it who usually cares.. right now I feel like PCT races are useless. Budget comes from sponsor goals (that don't include PCT), I have no use for the money I'll win in those races, I gain no WT points from them, etc. I mean what is even the point of racing PCT (2.1, 2.HC, etc)? In the first season I do so cause I like a real calendar and like to race some races, but I get to the second season and.. exact same races, I've been there, mnost of them have no purpose of even racing literally. An easy way to fix this is by indeed changing the goal system, but the change I propose is to make it bigger, more goals. A team doesn't only have 12 racing goals during a whole season.. I'm not suggesting a goal for each race (although I wouldn't mind), but having at least 25/30 goals, a season-long goal (win WT, win 50 stages, etc, things like that would actually give the PCT racing a goal. Adding this to the form building it would completely change the way PCT racing is seen, it would add purpose and actual objective to a TON of races.

Why: I like racing with WT teams, or a custom teams. I know some will think "just play with a PCT or a CT team" but if I do so, when I get to the WT, it'll be the same thing all over again. PCT racing became meaningless and adding a purpose to focus on those races adds a whole lot of new focus', perspectives, fitness planning changes, riders' schedule. Adds a whole dimension of management that sadly the game lost.

Agree with this - At least on Hard & Extreeme the game is too easy for those that know it well.

We need the above at least on those levels, and we need more like that.

Idea: - TEAM LEADER(s) - on the day
It is not like it is always easy to get a rider to win the race but it is way too easy to get 1 or often 2-3-4 riders in top 10, so I think the best way would be that the teams could all get a leaders with a hidden +1 or +2 (player would be the "leader" chosen in setup) making the teams more competitive against easy other and not always see 2-5 riders from the player team in top 10 - something that almost never happens in real life unless the skill level is very uneven.

Could complicate this even more if wanted, with more riders getting or losing different levels of bonus related to what role they was given. That would also make your team setup more interesting even if you play it completely manually.

Of course test should be made to adjust it to different race types.

Better team hierarchy.
I often see Van Poppel and Kristoff pulling the peleton in the middle of the racers, respectively for Groenewegen and Gaviria. Why are they working instead of weaker domestiques? Similarly i see Thomas/ Bernal pulling for Froome midway through a race, instead of Puccio and Kiriyenka. Would be nice if the system could identify weaker/stronger domestiques on teams, and assign orders accordingly.

@Tamijo I agree on the problem, but I don't think team leaders need a stat boost to go for results. Each team just needs to go for the best result possible, even if they only have a small outsider. Make every team compete. Smile

I kinda get you point, but the basic problem is that the "player" can make those crazy results, other teams don't/can't - upping the AI activity level would help, but I belive my plan is better, also from a "manager" point of view, where you will have to select rider roles, cant just optimise everyone by over pausing/dotting everything.

Can’t agree more !!! I would love to see better controls . Just throwing idea...split screen for breakaway and peloton...setting train in strategy screen before the race so you push one button to call up on guys and they organize theirs self ... team working as one instead of being break appart.. just more flowing action without pausing...just adding more macro and preset action button....this is a computer game anything can be done by the developer...you could have another button to make the guys behave differently in the breakaway like pulling or dragging the group.... more integrated order to make multiple guys behave at once instead of jumping from one to another!

Selecting the rider train in the strategy screen and calling up the train with one push of the button by either the sprinter or the leader.

Train controls by the leader or the sprinter. Meaning that rider get out of the way automatically. You would have only one slider effort fort the whole train instead of adjusting each rider.

Leader or sprinter calling up on protection. So the domestic “available “ would go automatically protect the leader.

Remapping keyboard.

Anything to avoid pausing.

Order to be leader or sprinter oriented.

Alert message when the escape attack and camera is in the peloton asking for a counterattack and you hit the button.

I been thinking also on these sprinter-trains. It hardly never gets done the "correct" way. One should be able to select let say final lead-out man prio to start. That way he will not be involved with bidon-fetching or pulling the peloton. Basic a more complex screen prio to start of race with more select duties. Perhaps even a road-captain that will be given your strategy but with an added stat=experience could better distribute roles during the race. It's called a managergame so I would not have to micro-manage every rider with clicks and keep a watching eye on everything. I know we have the auto selection but then evrything could be gone to hell.
Even give team-orders to what other rider to watch out for better control in who try to get into breakaways or if catch up depending on what other team attacks. All these manager options should be able to change during race of course on your discretion. Clearly also on mtn oriented teams like Sky. You tell who rider stick to Froome until the end and not get involved in anything prio to that.
I'm confident that a proper re-writing of the code will help the AI get this too.

Basically a better manager game as the name says.
We got this Be a Pro cyclist for the more archade playing. Never tried it so that what I think it is.
