Hello and welcome to the National Championships of Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba and Venezuela. 21 riders from 4 Nations will tackle 48km on the Mountains course. A very tough day ahead!

Attacks come immediately as the road rises, so immediately. Quevedo (MUS), Briceno (AZT), Mudarra (HGB) and Chiarello (MOV) are the quartet to go away. So we have two Venezuelans in Quevendo and Briceno, and one Brazilian in Chiarello and one Costa Rican in Mudarra.

Luckily this isn't all the action. Further back we have Silva (PND), Nardin (T3A), Nasciamento (PRP) and Marcos (CHI) attacking away. Marcos gives us a Cuban away from the pack.

Silva manages to ride himself across, but Nardin gets stuck in no-mans land, and Nasciamento and Marcos get distance even further back.

Late in the day we have Salinas (XR8) attack from the peloton, but he's over 12'00 down at that point and won't be a factor for the titles.

With 4km to go Briceno and Chiarello attack. This is key for both to drop Quevedo and Silva.

Chiarello wins the overal race and the Brazilian NC! Briceno wins the Venezuelan title with him. A gap back to Mudarra and his Costa Rican victory.

Whilst we see Salinas come in 9'38 down, an impressive distance recovered but far far far far too late. Nardin finishes behind him, before Marcos rolls in to claim the Cuban title!

The ITT follows the recent mixed race pattern of having clear favorites ahead of time.

Martinez claims the Cuban title for Chiquita. He is miles ahead of his closest rival, miles!

Amador claims the Costa Rican title for UBS by miles! He also lights up the timing screens with 1'18'39 and sets himself up for the overall win as well.

Nascimento recovered well to win the Brazilian title in dominant fashion, miles ahead of his rivals. However his time of 1'18'42 isn't enough to topple Amador for the overall race.

Abreu rounds it off winning the Venezuelan title for Movistar, but only 30" ahead of his closest rival. So not quite the miles domination of the other NC's.
