Kittel won't be there in the end anyways if its raced decently hard. And if he is, he will most likely be spend. Degenkolb really isn't fast these days, so Greipel is the obvious captain.

Gaviria is one of the my favourites. Really good classics rider already.

Very timely for BMC

First of all: Degenkolb is a lead out man. He did it for Kittel.
Second: Greipel worked hard for Degenkolb in Richmond. So he owes Greipel.

What I see more cricitcal are Politt and Sütterlin. They both ain't race hardend enough for long races like that. Sütterlin recently folded in the last stage of the Eneco tour, after having ridden extremely well ofc, and later stated in an interview that he has to work on his stamina for classic races. Politt did well at Roubaix if memory serves but I'd have taken someone like Martens or Ciolek.

163 round abouts. So I agree that we won't see Cipolini-esque lead outs.

Swiss squad is really at a disadvantage at a course like that.

They could work for the germans again though.

French selection is quite hilarious but let's wait. Bouhanni might go into retard mode and break something....again.

That's a bit of a shame. Always nice for the young South Americans to be brought to the forefront/Nairo slaving for Dayer

Oh, what terrible news. I will so miss the lack of doping controls, allowance of physical violence and dozens of motograbs given to South American CT riders at that wonderful stage race.

Sütterlin rode the 3 last PR and RVV. Politt has a monster engine and had a great classics season.

Being up there in that company in the first place was a huge performance already, and cobbled climbs hurt more than flat roads.

It was the Ronde. Which also goes against your race hardness argument, that was a massive effort for a neo-pro.

Martens is more of a puncheur, and Ciolek sucks this season (and if I say that you better believe it).
Don't forget that one of Politt and Sütterlin also does the TT where they are by far the best second option behind Tony, and at least this year every German rider across all categories who is selected for the TT also does the RR.

They both had great seasons and I think this nomination is a nice way to reward them. They deserve to make this experience and grow even further through it, while not weakening the team in the race.

Perfectly written cio, was about to go in the same direction. I personally hope that they get chosen over Sieberg, who could come in late if his injury heals faster than expected.

Wiggins states that he was fully aware of corticosteroid’s reputation blaster-foren.de/styles/default/xenforo/smilies.blaster/scratchchin.gif

https://velonews.c...ion_421909

He literally delivers the best line ever by the way, where he says that he'd probably have had been better without the TUE.. oh gosh.. Wiggins the legend who is so great, doping makes him worse..

All that aside, the more he says the less I buy into his story but ofc most people on this forum were never sold on SKY mantra anyway. Smile

Meanwhile, Romain Bardet follows Froome's comments and wants stricter TUE rules too. He even calls them imaginary illness. Gotta love that guy.

As called out 2 months ago by liveradsport.ch (nad once mentioned here but I can't find the post) there is Acqua Blue starting in 2017, aiming for an irish PCT licence for their debut season. Main captains will be Matt Brammeier and Lars-Petter Nordhaug, also Martyn Irvive and Conner Dunne are confirmed

IMO there will be far too many PCT teams as Cycling Academy and Verandas Willems (according to PCS) will also step up in the PCT division

2017 Tour de France will be less climbing and more time trialing, looks like Froome will get his 4th win. The opening week will looks very lame as well.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

It's October now Pfft Not even more time-trialling, just less of everything and the pacing of the Alps is horrible.

No way, World Championships was two days ago. World Championships are always half September. Therefore, it's september.
