Hi guys,
Since I'm moving out of my parents' house and in a new apartment with my girlfriend I've been thinking about buying a Surround Sound system. I'm the kind of guy who checks pretty much everything before buying which probably is also the reason why I'm here now and got no idea about what to buy.
I've read hundreds of forum messages, but problem is that specialized hifi websites usually are .. well, too "experty". They can hear everything and are only optimistic about systems which cost 4000 £ - but I'm the Average Joe who can't hear much difference. I'm of course interested in a good system, but not just for any price.
Anyway, 2nd problem is that I have quite a lot of requirements:
1. Small speakers. My girlfriend hates those large speaker-things
2. Needs to be black
3. HDMI
4. Possibility to connect other devices to the speakers
4. And, if possible, wireless rear speakers. That would make it perfect.
Besides, I got a question:
1. I already got a hard disc recorder, so is it possible only to buy the speakers and connect them to the hard disc recorder? |

I have no idea how a college student can possibly afford that, but good luck! massive move.

Yes- unless your recorder is very weird |

It's her parents who own the apartment. |

Nope - I don't know why I said it - we do have speakers, they're just not connected to the DVD recorder ops:ops:ops:
They're connected to it through the TV |

isso, leave Rod Stewart alone...
No, you can't connect the speakers to the DVD-recorder. I will advice you to buy an average sound card from Creative if you want to enjoy the music in computer without losing anything.

the only way to do that is to buy a great pair of headphones. with speakers you'll always lose sound quality no matter how good they are

the poor guy can't even move much anymore, is senile and crapping his pants every three seconds probably. I don't really envy him

Music? Computer? I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about a home cinema for my television / DVD movies. |

In Danish, it's called a harddisk-optager. Directly translated, it's "hard disc recorder", but I guess a proper English term would be a DVD Recorder with hard disc? |

That sounds to me like a DVD recorder with an in-built hard drive.
you would see in the description something like: DVD recorder with in-built 5GB memory.
i think you get the point anyway
