fantastic race. Hammond did fantasticly staying out for all that time and it seems like he is in Good Form. Maybe not a Paris - Roubaix winner but hopefully in the top 10 or so.

Thought your favourite was Padronos? Still, all ProTour points are good for Britain if we are to get more than 3 riders at this years world championships. |

yeah some bad accidents on both passages on that climb. I'm wondering if on the first crash there if the rider touched the wheel of the rider in front of him. And the hill was the Kemmelberg |

So the causlties of the climbs teams have now spoken out and can release the following information. We'll start with Unibet
Both riders were taken to the hospital in Ypres. Wilson and Casper are undergoing some X-ray scans to check on their heads and arms. Wilson may have broken an arm, Jimmy Casper has a split upper lip and a cut in his right cheek.
"I am awaiting the results of the X-ray scans to make a final diagnosis. Jimmy Casper has to stay at least one night in the hospital in Ypres", said Unibet.com team doctor Andrei Mikhailov
Next up Predictor lotto.
Hard luck for our Wim De Vocht.
After his crash at Kemmelberg in Ghent-Wevelgem, Wim has been found to have a broken thumb and several flesh wounds.
So, no Paris-Roubaix Wim, who will be replaced by Björn Leukemans.
Quick Step
Quick-Step, also suffered on the descent of Mont Kemmel. Wilfried Cretskens suffered heavy bruising and a deep cut that required stitches, he will be out of action for the next two weeks. Meanwhile Kevin Hulsmans is suffering from a chest infection and will also miss Paris-Roubaix.
Landbouwkrediet-Tönissteiner
For around 20 riders the race finished in the hospital at Ypres after 2 lheavy crashes on the descent of Mont Kemmel. The crash on the first descent saw Andy Cappelle crash and on the second descent James Vanlandschoot was amongst the victims.
James: suffered a broken elbow , injured hand and broken thumb.
Andy: broken elbow and injured shoulder
Lampre avoided the crash all together, however Bennati droped out at the start today and is preparing for the paris roubaix at the weekend.
Team CSC
Allan Johansen and Luke Roberts were among the victims of one of many crashes – both are ok though and ready for this Sunday's final big battle on the cobble stones: Paris-Roubaix
Milram
Team MILRAM suffers three crashes: At the Belgian classic Gent – Wevelgem Alessandro Petacchi, Fabio Sacchi and Marco Velo crashed at the descent after the second passage of the Kemmelberg. While Petacchi dropped out with a damaged bike, Sacchi and Velo were taken to hospital.
T-Mobile have nothing but good news from what i am getting.
Cofidis
Tyler Farrar is another patient of the hospital he has a suspected broken left knee cap.
finally Gerolsteiner
Heinrich Haussler again was unlucky and came down in the race, but fortunately following hospital examination managed to avoid any breakages , though he suffered deep bruises of the shoulder, knee and elbow.
Many of the riders will be out of action for a few weeks. May i join you in wishing all these riders a speedy recovery |
