Did Prudhomme look at Pcm Daily?

This would be epic in real life. Smile
But the riders can make it boring of course...

I wouldn't either, but the thing is that we don't know how the stage will look yet people are already saying it'll be epic. I don't get the hype, but hey, it's just me.

I'd love if it was Galibier - Croix de Fer - Alpe - Alpe, like in emmea's stage. But a finish in Les Deux Alpes instead of Alpe d'Huez would be even better.

Well, the cyclingnews report states that the stage will start in Gap, making it pretty unlikely for any other major climb to be in the stage. They could go over the Lautaret making about 220km, or Izoard + Lautaret making about 250km. The Lauratet is hardly a major climb though, and 250km for such a hard stage.... Giro maybe, but definatly not in the Tour.

On the other hand, if they head straight for Bourg d'Oisans (over the col d'ornon), it'll end up with only 160km. Maybe they'll add some minor climbing work to increase the distance a little, but anything like Galiber, Croix the Fer or Glandon is definatly out of the question if they do start in Gap.

I reckon they could do it in 210 km or something, if they head to Briançon first.
I admit I'm not quite sure any more what's the way through the resort, but the finish is Avenue du Rif-Net (what an odd name). So, if they need to descend through Sarennes, the first time they hit the last round-about they should turn right and start descending, whereas they'll normally turn left the last time.

Exactly my thoughts. Grin

This year's Tour had two mountains stages of about the same lenght, so that wouldn't be out of the question,

According to velowire, col d'ornon will be climbed.

That should be the tdf 2013

That'll make for some great helicopter footage. Le Mont St. Michel is something quite special.

Queen stage? Gladon/Croix de Fer + Madeleine + Saisies + Aravis.

It'll certainly make for some firework with those three stages at the end.

I think that the Alpe D'huez stage will be the queen stage

i honestly don't care if the tour gets repetitive...its the 100th tour so add what made the tour..."the tour"

Will they take the Bourg-D'Oisan route up both times? I would like to see them go up from another route the first time and then save the 21 bends for the last ascent.

Mont Saint-Michel ITT? That would be Banana

I loved that place when i was there. So they will probably finish at the gates, or they can climb the narrow streets in the end also? The road can be also very treacherous and covered with sand.

Overall it seems like a cool route.
I'll be back

Love the uphill TT. If it is an equal match to the 2004 TT it will be good Smile

The Cret de Chatillon is also a smallish climb

Stages 16 and 18, hope they won't disappoint. Smile

I've already crossed fingers for tailwind or no wind on Ventoux on stage 16, headwind won't make it a good stage, I fear. The route looks decent, I really like the stages up to the first rest day. Corsica will be interesting, and Ax-3 should provide some good racing.

Mont Saint Michel TT? Sweet jesus that would be awesome. I'm only missing Le Ballon d'Alsace and Puy de Dome.
Domenico Pozzovivo Smile

Looks very good. Lots of mountain stages. Smile

Avoriaz is an easy climb to finish the final hard stage on though.

So alot less ITT km's in the Tour. Is the 47km long ITT flat? So 62 km of ITT next year vs over 100 km of ITT this year. Should be nice + we also have Ventoux, Alpe D'Huez and Tourmalet. Can't wait to see it officially.

Maybe we will see Pozzovivo next year in the Tour because he said recently in an interview that he would do 2 GT next year based on the route that fits him the most.

oh no more plain stages for champs elysee? lol would cavendish be upset? lolSmile
