Hushovd in WM
Podium place
Did someone see the great ride of Thor Hushovd?? He out conqoured Andy Shleck and Alejandro Valverde and he led the group up the steep hills. What a form he was in. Shame he only made 19.th but dont get me wrong, for a man at that size 19.th place in that type of track. By the way I feel sorry for Boasson Hagen also.

Well, Well it`s another oppertunity next yearWink

Although it should be noted Valverde and Schleck were clearly out of shape.

15 Aleksandr Kuschynski (Belarus)
16 Alexandre Usov (Belarus)
17 Beat Zberg (Switzerland)
18 Erik Zabel (Germany)
19 Thor Hushovd (Norway)
20 Radoslav Rogina (Croatia)
21 Murilo Antonio Fischer (Brazil)

And Rogina was also still there, lol

If Hushovd led the group up the climbs, why was he unable to even try to attack when the big moves came?

The only reason he was at the front on the hills was that so when he lost places in the climb, he wouldnt be dropped.

Usov was 16th....that says a lot about the drop in pace that the peloton did after those 10 guys were off the front.

still, well done Thor!

his problem is that even though he is so well rounded in most aspects of cycling, he doesn't excel at any one of them. which you really need to win nowadays.

Is it just me or could Hagen be suffering the same fate in the future- putting the emphasis on COULD.

it's possible. or he could become a huge rider. or he could become a bust. you never really know with young riders Smile

Ok guys i am norwegian but anyways everybody in Wm did their best and the fact that Hushovd crushed A.Shleck and alejandro valverde is something to brag about.Smile

Dan_Grr
Crushed eh?

ruben
No it is not, riders who are 'crushed' by even Hossein Askari (finished 72th before A.Schleck) is nothing to brag about

That's just plain ridicolous. Grin

Valverde and Andy Schleck are out of the race form are they not? And Valverde was working as a helper anyway.

I'll also think that it's great by Thor, but as SportingNonsense said, I'll also think that the only reason that he led the group up the hills was that he wouldn't end in the back of the group. But still nice by Thor. In the u-23 race I hoped more of Jonas Aaen Joergensen won. (I'm danish)

Yeah, if he not was the strongest rider, he was one of the smartest. He rode himself ahead of the peleton in the downhills so he could he had som meters to go on in the hill. Kurt Asle Arvesen also had a great ride, and was a big part of the race just before the end.

I was a little dissapointed of Boasson, he actually had better results last year in both RR and TT. Altough this time he did not have to show how god rider he is, he has allready done that earlier this season.

This year he was also far less in the Tour l'Avenir than in 2006. In 2006 he won 3 stages now zero.

Maybe he was tired from a long year, that can happen when you are still only 19

jeje, jelous guys dont cry....... Boasson will beat cancellara in tt in 3 yearsWink and hushovd will at least beat tom boonen and mc ewenWink
