Brailsford asked "It looked like Brad told Chris to go on what was going on as it didn't quite work out?" - response change the subject and talk about team objectives - sounds like silly-team-order, lets-have-the "most Biritsh" rider-we-can-get-winning-please Grin

It wasnt a very good question. Easy to dodge.

Did Sky allow such a question in the "list of acceptable questions" they gave for the journalists? Shock

That's true. Wiggins interview was all about the emotion of realising the moment towards the top of the climb and that Froome would get his 100% backing in the future - "Chris'll have his day for sure, 100%, and I'll be there to support him.."

What a joke.
I hope Wiggins sends Froome a lot of Christmas and birthday presents, for the rest of his life. He's not a worthy winner on my eyes, the same as Riis wasn't on 1996 when Ulrich was much, much stronger.
And what the hell: last km, Nibali behind and you stop Froome from winning the stage? Disgusting behaviour Sky, disgusting. I hope Froome leaves Sky.

Hardly, if he does get the support after this year it would be a bit silly to leave after you've paid the debt and before you collect the pay back?

Edit - Plus it's not quite over yet - illness, crash risks not withstanding there is still a TT. Even more important than the first that Wiggins beats Froome in that to make a point.

All riders in today.
Cavendish, Eisel, Vanotti being the last a few seconds after the grupetto. So no problem today. Grin

Yeah, right at the back but well within the time limit.

I do not think Froome will go as no.1 next year, it will be Wiggins again.Sure, he will not leave Sky, but I just saying, would be good if he did. iggins IMO wasn't the strongest on the tour and Froome could have won it.
And today's decision was just ridiculous.

Delighted that Wiggins and Sky have their tour win. The tactics at the end were confusing but that's cycling in a grand tour. Leaders and domestiques. It makes not a jolt of difference to the main headline, which is Wiggins wins the Tour.

Liquigas reverted to their Giro state of affairs and were fortunate for me that there was not any other riders close enough to Nibali to knock him off the podium.

Disappointed with the competition, there was very little. The fact that TvG and a massively under par Cadel Evans are 5th and 6th underlines that this has been a poor quality tour field. Much may be made of the crashes, but I don't think anyone who crashed had really shown that they were going to do much.

No matter UK has a Tour win and Canada has a Giro win. Sky and Garmin have pulled off GTour wins too.

I would imagine he would want to leave if he wasn't number 1 next year without very good reason. Indeed Froome might have won it though the second TT will be interesting. If Wiggins beats him again it makes the win a lot more credible. Not withstanding the fact that Froome had already lost the best part of 2 minutes (was it?) in a first week crash. Difficult to know how much time he might have put into everyone on the moutnains stages considering we didn't see him do it - 30 seconds or 3 minutes take your pick but it can only be speculation...

Wiggins' recent interviews have strongly suggested he will happily work for Froome next year.

On his way to hospital - operation needed on his fingers immediately is the word now.

I've no idea how he rode to the finish like that....

We'll come back to that next year. I don't think that will be the case.

Just noticed Sorensen defended his 14th overall well considering his bloodied hand. Can't even begin to imagine the nodding on his way up that final climb.

Edit - Eeeeek just seen the photo above too, quite incredible. Hope he gets "patched up" well enough to ride tomorrow.

Congrats to mr. Wiggins.

I enjoyed the Tour just for the fact that Froome joins the Andy-Alberto climbing tier. Hope he is clean (which I think he is) and we can see a nice battle at La Vuelta, if he is to be in an appropriate shape that is.
