Sky Doping/Hate Thread

Also, the thing I really hate about this isn't Froome doping (if we've learned anything from the past decades of drugs in cycling is that being a doper has little to do with being a nice person) or even Sky doing this (although I do hate it), it's the fact that nobody ever fucking learns anything from anything! There's nobody questioning this in the media, very few fans questioning it, everybody's sticking their heads in the sand and enjoying the sun on their arses while it lasts. I know it's the same in every walk of life, but you'd hope that we might actually learn from a mistake once. If people could just objectively assess the situation for a bit, then I could take it.

Hear hear. I'm continuously astonished at the number of people who are either just happy to accept Sky and their methods or are outright defending them through their own myopic patriotism.

EDIT: We've reached 100 pages of vehement hate and heated discussion! Long may it continue! Pfft

Stage 15 - helped reel in Nairo, but finished almost 3mins down

and he's a converted triathlete, they peak for the whole season and rarely have bad days

I'm curious about this but is it possible thats a sign of not doping. I mean thats looks more human to my uneducated eye particularly for a helper, give it all one day and not able for it the next day or told to conserve energy.

On a side note i just heard on the tv news two top sprinters tested positive for drugs, Tyson Gaye and Asafa Powell.

Canal+ reporting Zroome has been plugged into the French national grid during warm-down. Just because ...
It was eleven more than necessary.

If it's too good to be true in cycling, it always is....

Only thing that puzzles me in it all, is why the hell 'experienced' riders like Contador, Valverde and Schleck are not a little bit closer to Froome.

With Mollema in second, only real threat at the minute to Froome is for him to be swallowed up one of the two times he'll be motoring through Dutch Corner.

This may sound like a conspiracy theory but it may be worth a thought (its a long shot):

Last year Froome and Wiggins dominated the tour, with Froome being held back, so Wiggins would win the tour... It just looked a little ridiculous, that 2 riders from the same team are on the top 2 steps on the podium (both from a nation that never had a pevious tour winner no less) and the public got a little suspicious! So this year they have Porte, froomes moste important helper this year, drop of from time to time so it doesnt look as suspicious as last year.

Its not that improbable if you think about protecting the image of running a "clean" organisation...

And before the unqualified attacks towards this comment come to the fore, consider that I said the words Conspiracy Theory and Longshot!

I just had it explained to me that Froome has shown a natural development result-wise...

From another forum (that didn't give me a satisfying answer):

For all you very knowledgeable people around here, I have a question!
See, some time ago… actually, last year’s Tour, I tried to find out about Froome’s bilharzia. My problem was that I couldn’t find a single internet article about his disease from before his breakout at the Vuelta 2011. I asked a Danish cycling journalist who has always been interested in these sort of things about it and he told me to read a book about Sky (probably Sky’s the Limit?). I took it as his way of implying that the answer to my question would be in this book… but I’ve never read it.

Others probably have! So, when is the earliest interview or whatever stating something about Froome’s disease? I still cannot find an internet article giving any indication before somewhere around August 30th 2011
Never.

There isn't anything beyond that date. It was first mentioned as a justification for his incredible transformation that had already happened

If you assume he visited Michele Ferrari on Tenerife when they had their training camps there, then it's natural Pfft

Definitely not a long shot. Especially since a lot of riders managed to make it back from the "sky group" that was trying to bring Porte back. So he either had the worst day of his career or miggi might have more than just a conspiracy theory.

sky try to mask their factory gt winners,us postal didn't bothered
sky playing some theatre
porte could have been easily 2nd guy in gc at 2-3 min from froome
he has interdiction to repeat that first montain stage
froome and porte flyed on dauphine,in the begin of tour de france they both showed same thing
porte will be in "form" on montain stages with finish in climb and of course itt where he won't loose more then 1-2 minute from froome but better time then any other gc riders

Froome is technically Kenyan anyway, he only races on a British Passport.

With the 5 Jamaican athletes testing positive, Cycling's recent doping problems seem minimal to those in athletics.

why doesn't UCI act now? seeing a dude that has a body of a skeleton suddenly accelerate like that should ring some bells on the dudes that catch the cheaters.

but again, he will win the tour, and then 2 months later they will say "we catched him and he is no longer the winner", i would appreciate the guts to strip the yellows on the moment, then again, they needed about a decade to catch the "best rider of all times".

You are all a bunch of muppets, top european riders, riding in this tour de france plus someone's brother have been suspended because they have tested positive for banned substances or being linked to suspect Dr's and yet you are all crying your little eyes out because a British Team are taking over YOUR sport.
