Its almost official...Jan doped.

https://www.cyclin.../apr04news

DNA from Jan's saliva has matched blood from blood bags taken from Fuentes' office.

Although there is no evidence...i want to show my appreciation for those who never cheated...and never showed any reason to suspect....someone like a leipheimer or a julich...

First off, OP was closed because there is no existing law that they are breaking at the time they were breaking it. Second, just because they find blood bags with jan's blood in it...that doesn't mean he is breaking any law or even means he's cheating. Everything is inferred. You basically have to prove a lot of things.

What is useful is that any governing body would have cracked down on this with the information that is available. However, with cycling...there really is no united governing body at the moment. Thus it was up to the managers to throw out those guys (basso, ullrich).

As far as landis goes, its pretty clear he's won't be stripped. I am going into medicine and have a lot of my family in medicine. We completely agree that testosterone wouldn't help him in any way. It helps when taken to build your muscles up...but the short term effect is very very limited if any at all. In fact it might hurt you more causing you to bonk faster.

besides, his testosterone wasnt high, it was his ratio.

His CIR test, which distinguishes fake from real testosterone, seems to vindicate him. There are 4 identifiers they look at . Only 1 was high. If he were to take synthetic, all 4 would be high. What WADA considers the most important indicator had a low reading and wasn't the one that was high.

To add even further, when testing both results, you would think you would see similarity in results. In fact, the results were both all over the map...indicating at least 1 or both samples could be contaminated.

Even further, the numbers don't even match up. A number was crossed...and they didnt' follow the protocol...and even the number that was replaced doesn't even match his ID number.

Its not even funny how badly WADA messed up.

But this is just a bunch of lawyer bs...realistically between you and me...it shouldn't have a place in cycling...but given the situation...its best if we clean up the sport.

correct, it's best if we clean up the sport. But reports say that other sports were implicated in OP but the press or police didn't care about that. I would like to see the full list of names (not just cyclists)

I agree. My heart sank when i heard it too. If you read other posts I've made, I really didn't think jan ever cheated till recently. I've also posted that I always thought he got a unfair treatment. If Armstrong never existed, he woulda won who knows how many TDFs...and other races as well.

Sorry about my reaction, I'm a big Landis/Leipheimer fan...pretty much every american except Armstrong.
