Transfer Season 12/13

Wiggins in the Giro? Cool. I hope that means more ITT kilometers.

alex valceanu
Dont think he will go in Giro . Porte and the colombians will be the leaders there . Although i would be happy - this will mean that Froome will 100% be the leader In TDF.Wink

Wiggins wont start a season..and goal. To be Froome helper at the tour..come on.
Man has bigger ambition..what he is missing? Giro GT win..to get golden triple.
Porte and columbian boys will get fucked

alex valceanu
Well he is missing the win in Giro but also in Vuelta.Wink And I dont think he is ever going to win one of them . Dont know why but I have a feeling that Sky wont be the same next year .

changing topics here, If the schlecks go to Astana, then they need to bring some of their loyal domestiques with them. Astana isn't that powerful of a team

Saxo is starting to build a very strong team in the mountains . Also a good move for Roche .

Interesting. It sounds like he doesn't even want Giro/Vuelta leadership, though he could do alright in either of them.

A move will probably suit him, he seems to have stagnated a bit. It will be interesting to see what AG2R can do to replace him.

With that Roche will become a top notch helper foir Conta. It will be realy good seeing Contador and Roche working together.

Nicholas Roche has announced that he is leaving Ag2r in order to ride for Bjarne Riis’ Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank team.

Roche, who finished just outside the top ten in this year’s Tour De France, won’t enjoy the privilege of being team leader in his new team, as that position is already occupied by Alberto Contador, the Spaniard who is currently serving a ban for a doping violation.

Roche has pre-empted questions about his decision to join a team whose Directeur Sportif and team leader have links to doping by saying that “it’s hard to name any professional team without doping links to the past, whether it’s with a member of staff or a rider.

Roche admits in his column in today’s Irish Independent that he realises he won’t be team leader anymore, but says he is looking forward to working with Riis, Tour De France winner in 1996, in order to improve his time-trialling ability and challenge for the yellow jersey as a team.

Nice move, Rochie.

I like the move personally. AG2R was good to him, but it's time for a big-name team move. Plus the Riis "training program" will for sure help him improve.

Oh, yeah, 1st of August, when the NDA for cycling transfers expire.
I guess we'll get more transfers announced very soon now.

Mmmm, Grand Tour rides might become less for him now Frown

Good move, now it depends if Kreuziger will join them too. If he will, than Roche will be domestique only or co-leader with Roman, if not he can do one GT as the leader i hope.
I'll be back

kumazan
And yet another good domestique for Contador. Bleh.

Very interesting move. Furthermore i hope Daniel Navarro will reach his earlier Astana form. One of the year he was leading more mountains than Rogers and Porte together Pfft

If Kreuziger joins too, then it will be insanely strong. Then Saxo Bank will be like the old US Postal. With 3 riders in top 10 Shock

Im a Contador fan, but i do for the sake of cycling, that both Roche and Kreuziger will ride their own chances at the Giro or Vuelta.

I really do believe that Bjarne Riis will be able to develop them so they to step it up a notch.

Tinkoff has the money watch this clip where he offers Karpets 2mio euro for fun. A very comic clip

i'm sure they'll develop with Riis Pfft

Why Roche, why? Bad move in my opinion
SaxoBank have every chance of being demoted from the WT
He will be, at best, a co-leader in 1 GT a year
At all other times he'll be 2nd or 3rd behind Cuntadope, Kreuziger and maybe even Navarro once he gets the boost of contador back.
Then theres a high chance that Fuglang will return, and he'll be favored by Riis.
He should have stayed at AG2R, a solid team where he can lead if he wants. Or if not moved to a similar level team, cause he's just not that good. He's good, solid top10 if things go well, but he's a fair way off a podium, unlike Cuntadope and Kreuziger on a good ride.
