Alberto Contador openly applied for a place in the Rabobank team. He said he would like to go to a team which is strong in the mountains and can help him to another TDF win, and he thinks Rabobank is the best choice there is with Discovery gone.
Meanwhile it's very doubtful if Rabobank will really contract Contador because of his suspicious involvement with Operacion Puerto. Besides the new interim manager, Van der Aat, has stated Rabobank wants to become more Dutch, with Dutch leaders and helpers. |

Rabo won't take him i don't think. He stands a good chance getting a pro tour team though. A TDF winner doesn't go un noticed.

or Bouygues if he's not wanted anywhere else...
A bouygues TDF victory would be intresting though..

Bouygues would never sign him - he's just too successful

as I said a few days ago, I can't see many options for him.
teams either already have leaders, or don't want him since he's a suspicious rider.
there's about 3-4 teams that I see him having a possibility of joining in the ProTour, but not more.
and I doubt he'll join Astana. I don't think he's that stupid.

Cycling Weekly disagree with you there...
Vinokourov wants a new team leader and they think Contador is the man to fill the shoes.

if that's all, then they're not saying he's going. just that he's wanted.
anyway, this will eventually turn into a soap opera if he doesn't get a team soon.
honestly, I can only see him going to Liquigas, Lampre or Astana (plus a few Continental Teams. Relax springs to mind)

I also think Saunier Duval is possible. I don't see any reason what they should be left out. |

Strange situation..TdF getting hard to find a new team.
Great young talent..suspicous backround..
Team should be quite rich to hire him. Saunier has enough problems to pay Ricco he's demanding sallary..but still this is good option. Caisse? ..Valverde wouldnt allow this.
Predictor , Rabo, CSC , T-mobile..Conta is to dirty for them. Dont belive also french teams should take that risk.
Milram?
