Mb's preview:
Spoiler Tirreno-Adriatico where the lack of any mountain stage in this years race means that strong time trialists will probably dominate the top ten, as long as they can avoid loosing time on the hilly stages.
So who is here and what can we expect?
Sprinters
Well Bos is here, although he won't be able to do anything as there are hills on every stage.
Bennati leads the sprinting field, and he will be tough to beat, although his lack of form in Qatar will give his rival hope. Corioni, Lavoine and Grillo lead the chasing pack, although without much in terms of a lead out they will have to work on their positioning.
One team who won't struggle for lead outs is Carmeuse Cyclisme, along with Bos they have Caethoven and Clerc and will expect to have someone challenging for victory on all 4 flat stages.
Hilly Riders
Trofimov, Hagen and Sánchez Gonzalez lead the way here, although expect Ulissi and Sanchez Gil to also be up there in the finale.
Time trialists
Zabriske, Rogers and Phinney are here, and all will be looking for victory on this stage, and allthough it is classified as hilly, I really can't see anyone other than Zabriske winning this one.
Wild Card
A strong team from Wiggle Ponzi will be here for the hills, while Ignatiev will be testing the water to see if, next year, he will be able to compete for GC's in the pro tour as well.
Overall
It really depends on Wikipedia, should Phinney be the leader then he is favourite for the overall, however should Zabriskie be given the honour then the hilly stages could be very interesting.
After them, and apart from the names already mentioned Kashechkin and Nibali have a good time trial and should be able to hold their own on the hilly stage, it's all set up for an exciting stage.
Predictions:
Overall
1. Phinney
2. Trofimov
3. Hagen
4. Sanchez Gil
5.Sánchez Gonzalez
6.Nibali
7.Zabriskie
8.Kashechkin
9.Rogers
10.Ulissi
Points:
Bennati
Mountain:
Pereiro Sio
Young Rider:
Phinney
For the sake of getting the race done in the limited time ive got at the moment, the race reports wont be particularly detailed.

It would appear my team all dropped back (apart from one) to help out Bos when he was inevitably dropped, giving all my riders (except 1) a 5 minute loss
SN, I always expect this to get a mention, as it happens every time

If everyone else crash, Gerdemann may stand a chance of top 10 |

A rather good first two stages, despite no time gaps for Rogers |

It's good that Posthuma didn't lose any time in the first stage and it's nice to see him attacking even though he was brought back in the pack

The shot of Amador lying on the ground sums up my chances unless Visconti does something amazing. |

Pretty nice start, podium for Grillo and Trofimov is always up there. Just need to continue avoiding those crashes and Trofimov got a big chance of winning the race.

Whoooo Wiggle! Amazing stuff for stage 1. Good top 10 placings on stage 2, good tour already for me.
We'll ignore Auber's results though

I really do have a great start this season. All my riders lose out on the final break in the Tour of Qatar costing me almost 200pts. Samuel Sánchez, who won here last year crashes and lose 2mins. Aha.

Damn. Gesink crashes in Paris - Nice, then Posthuma does the same thing in Tirreno.
If we continue like this we will be back in the CT next season

And so the great tour continues. Guess Ponzi is leader out and out now then. Stage win for Ignatiev in the TT is a very slim chance against guys like Rogers and Phinney, but still possible... maybe... Can't complain though!

Note to self: Hire the best TT'ers and hope that they survive the hills.
Oh well - Gerdemann did well and more than I could expect. Hopefully, he can keep it up on the next stage. |

I'd be very pleased if Óscar Pereiro Sio can hang on to a Top10 position.
Tennant in the Top20 would be great too.

A little dissapointed in Hagen here. 8th is not really good enough for him. Hope does better on the next stage and wins!

Whoho, two stage wins! This have been a great race so far. Trofimov should be able to claw back those 29 seconds if the next stage is hard enough.
