WTF? I thought they wouldn't do that. Weird. I'd love to know how they explain that decision. I wonder how many rest days the riders will have after moving back to Europe.

Most colleges have finals the first two weeks of May, and if I have to take an overnight flight to get back to DC to watch the race, I will.

I'm guessing a prologue on the national mall (perfect location by the way, I'm imagining a route starting a the Lincoln Memorial, wrapping around the basin, including the FDR memorial and the cherry blossoms, which will be in bloom, and then doing a lap around the mall to finish in front of the White House), and then a stage heading out of North-West (or possibly North-East) to head up to Baltimore.

CN are saying 3 stages, the paper that broke this today has stated it's a Prologue ONLY. They fly back on the Sunday and have an extra rest day on the Monday. Stage 2 will be on the Tuesday.

That is fine with me, the prologue is what I really care about. If the route is what I'm guessing it will be then I know exactly where I'm going to watch from.

That's seriously fuck off stupid.

Just remembering how naffed off the riders were with transfers when it started in Scicily a few years back.

I don't like this. Imo the Giro should start in Italy or in one of the neighbouring countries. I don't think the riders will like this either. Everyone will have a jetlag after the flight back.

Though it is pretty nice they start in Amsterdam this year. Pfft They will also go through Leiden, which is about 2km from my home town. Pfft

Even last year, when the teams had to get ferries over to Venice, prompted complaints! God only knows what starting in the US will be like Pfft

Cuddles the Cobble is back!!!

Podiumcafe's annual cobblestone power poll. The Saxo Bank and Rabobank ratings (both team and riders) might annoy some people, but regardless of whether you think it's crap (I do), it's a fun read.

that is quite a fun read i like the cuddles the cobbles part near the end of each report. Is it just me or does he have no faith in flecha and lots of faith in boasson hagen.

George Hincapie is on Devolder's level, hardware or no, while Marcus Burghardt may outclass Chavanel starting this year

WTF

Juan Antonio... fooled ya. Probably fooled him too. But it's all about Edvald now, like it or not. Not to rehash, but Boasson Hagen has all the skills you want here. Just a matter of time.

Has Team Sky suddenly turned into Team Hagen now? No disrespect to Hagen, but I still think Flecha (and maybe Arvesen too) are better classic riders than Hagen. Hagen hasn't shown anything yet, save Gent - Wevelgem, in a big classic. Maybe in the future, but at the moment not yet.

I've got to agree with Deadpool, this is crap (but fun to read, yes)

It's because he is one of the classics leaders. Not the only one, but one of them.

haha I agree @Wilier Smile

in other news, Zirbel gets banned for 2y and retires

https://www.cyclin..._headlines

McQuaid also said there are a 'handful of riders' who have shown abnormal values in the bloodspassportthingy, they get 30 days to come up with a valid explanation.

like you said, its just a matter of time. we'll talk again once he gets a top 10in RVV or PR. In the meantime stop acting like he's superman on cobbles
