the championships of Uzbekistan have also been run. who cares who the winner is. the important bit is it's NOT Lagutin.
Vladimir Tuychiev won the all-important time trial!

British races cancelled!
The Women's and Men's senior National Road Race Championships, due to have taken place in East Yorkshire on Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July respectively, have been cancelled following the exceptional rainfall in the area earlier this week. The Elite Circuit Series event scheduled for 29th June in Beverley has also been cancelled.
The decision to cancel the event was made by the Humberside police on Wednesday morning. They are stretched to capacity and struggling to meet the demand currently placed on them following the torrential rain, which has left many homes and businesses in the area under water. The BBC 5-day weather forecast suggests further rain, which can only add to the difficulties currently being experienced in the area.
Jonny Clay, British Cycling's Cycle Sport and Membership Director, said:
"Along with the organisers of the weekend's events, we are very disappointed, but completely understand the decision of the Police, given the current situation on Humberside. The organisers have expressed a desire to re-run the entire weekend if at all possible this year but understandably they want to concentrate on communicating and cancelling this major event before exploring alternative arrangements."

and to all the Hagen fans (who seem to be multiplying like rabbits), he didn't win the road race. he came third. I wonder if he'll also ride the Elite race?

the definition of english weather by an english guy I ran into during Euro2004:
"you know...it's always grey....grey....grey....then suddenly 4 or 5 times a year, the clouds part and there's that big yellow ball in the ski....what is that thing???"

on second thought, best not talk about the weather...I'm sitting here looking out the window at the clear blue sky...the palm trees waving in the wind...thinking of the beach...and suddenly my eyes wander to the computer in front of me and I remember I'm here because I'm studying

time trials:
Bert Grabsch in Germany
Benoit Vaugrenard in France
Gustav Larsson in Sweden
Fabian Cancellara in Switzerland
Luca Ascani in Italy
Lukasz Bodnar in Poland
Vladimir Tuychiev in Uzbekistan
as for road races, only one:
Yukiya Arashiro in Japan
stick around, many more will be done from now until sunday night
notice that TT champions only wear their jerseys during time trials. the other way around for road race champions
