Elijzen might very well win because it's suddenly pouring down with rain!!

Millar + 11 seconds.
there's very little chance anyone beats Elijzen's time. he got VERY lucky with the rain.

could he, please, have that luck?
The guy had a broken knee, a virus, a collapsed lung and hart rythm problems, all in 2006
Can he please have a bit of luck then in this prologue???? Btw, it's not like he would've finished much lower. Elijzen was already 2nd at the Dutch ITT championships this year and 3rd in 2005. I think only Millar and Gusev would have beaten his time... |

you're acting like I was insulting the man. I was stating a fact. I couldn't care less who won. all I want is a good race with no dopers winning

Well all the "millar would've won by a mile" and "Elijzen is so damn lucky" talk is pretty annoying...
Elijzen had a well deserved win in front of some real prologue specialists who did drive in dry weather like Verbrugghe (who is the fastest prologue winner ever, 58km/h in Giro 2001) |

he lost by only 11 seconds on a soaked road with 10 90ΒΊ corners.

your words, not mine. if it annoys you, too bad.
the way you keep taking everything as a personal attack was annoying a while ago. now it's become normal, so It doesn't bother me anymore. if you want to continue to complain and pretend as if I was demeaning Elijzen's ride, feel free

I don't say Millar would not have won, I'm sure he would! But won "by a mile" is such an exaggeration. It's a 5.1km prologue, he would've done 5 seconds better than Elijzen, max...more than 5 seconds would mean a +52km average which is highly unlikely on a twisty prologue like this even in dry conditions, it would even be suspicious performance then.

considering so many good time triallists were immensely behind, and Millar was only 11 seconds, and especially considering that Millar (like the others) had to slow down to a near crawl in most corners, I'd say the difference would've been more.
but that's just an aside. the point I was making before is this:
even "just" those 5 seconds would've been one second per kilometer.
that's a very big difference.
