A few days ago, it was reveiled that Sinkewitz had said that there was organized team doping on T-Mobile even after they had fired Ullrich. For that reason, T-Mobile initiated an investigation. They didn't know who to ask, though. Ullrich, Sevilla, Kessler, Mazzo, Gontchar, Klöden and Guerini were all gone. So, only Rogers were left, and he said that he wasn't involved in anything (surprise, surprise), and that he didn't know anything about it. And that's probably the end of that investigation |

Will any Spanish team stronger than Benfica be left out (unless a scandal happens about that team, or somthing like that) ? No, of course no.
you missed my point entirely. Selle Italia (who despite the Venezuelan license are an italian team) were left out of the Giro in favor of the Russian armada. and there are countless other examples. how many french teams that are worthy of participation can you name that were left out of the Tour? but I can name several teams who were invited without earning it, got to the tour, won a stage, and thus had their season "made".

And no, they're not Spanish, they're Portugese, "their" Grand Tour is la Vuelta (if they had to pick only one, it'd be that one).
not really. it's just a stepping stone towards the Tour de France. they're negotiating with ASO to be in the Tour 2009. basically they're asking what riders they need to sign to be there.

There’s a stunning moment in the Danish documentary “Doping on the Road” (1999) that perfectly captures the drug-induced meltdown of professional cycling over the past decade and the obdurate dishonesty that made it possible.
The face on the screen belongs to Bjarne Riis, whose victory in the 1996 Tour de France is still considered the greatest achievement by a Danish athlete. With the camera parked inches from his nose and every sweat gland shining, Riis is asked, “Have you ever doped yourself?” Riis’ eyes go into shock, expressing catatonic fear, anger, and the hurt that comes from having been betrayed. When he had recovered enough to respond to this verbal assault, Riis’ response was neither “yes” nor “no.” What he managed to say was: “How could you ask me that question?”

It could be a good thing that ASO favour french teams for the Tour de France. Then it would be less doped riders in the tour.

It's not strange to have the "Ministerio de Defensa" under a cycling team. They're often using the "Army" brand as a way to sponsorize sporting events (such as the Vuelta or the national football team). |

Take into account that the Army turned into a pro force only five or six years ago, and it's hard to get a lot of new workers every year. That's the reason why they try to make it popular in any ways. |

AG2R has got a new co-sponsor which will also be included in their name - La Mondial.
Werner Franke has spoken publically again, this time critizing the blood passport. He said that it wouldn't help anything. What they couldn't discover before, they wouldn't be able to discover after the blood passport. In fact, he said that the blood passport would help the riders, since they would now be able to say: "Look in my passport - there's nothing wrong".
Paolo Bettini will probably take part in next year's Paris - Roubaix. He said that there was a few races which he had never won / participated in which he wouldn't like to miss.
Pat McQuaid has now admitted that they will probably never get more out of Operation Puerto than they got now. He said that the Spanish federation is not interested in fighting doping, and he also said that Valverde - Valv.Piti - is rider nr. 18.
(Valverde can't be too happy now)
The Freiburg doctors have had a visit from the police. After Sinkewitz' assertions, the police found it neccessary to raid their houses.
Jörg Jaksche has now withdrawn his accusations against Bjarne Riis. A few days ago, Jaksche said that Riis has threathened him not to say anything about his doping abuse.

Then I don't know why he has 70 or more cobble rating in many databases.

yeah, it's weird and funny, and that's one of the main reasons why it has a chance of working: it's different
nothing of the sort ever happens here, since we don't really need an army except to send out as part of a UN peace intervention force.
after all, who's going to invade us? Spain? the fish?

We don't need an army to take Portugal. We already take it every single long weekend (like this one here in Spain, where November 1st is a public holiday)

Expect Valverde talking to the media and threating the UCI to go to court very soon. |

On what we were talking before:
Todociclismo.com said:
Según explica El Heraldo de Aragón, el equipo tendrá además el copatrocinio del Ministerio de Defensa a través de la firma "soldados.com", que ofrece información para la incorporación de jóvenes al Ejército. |
