EDIT: nevermind, just noticed Addy had said the same.

well, Jaksche has said stuff before. particularly the comment he made about how "Riis decided to go in a different direction with doping after 2004"

Patrice Clerc has said that M. Rasmussen is welcome at next year's Tour as long as he's willing to accept the blood passport which will be a criterion to start at the Tour.
M. Rasmussen responded today, saying that it would be no problem at all.
I'm shocked.
I cant understand why you're shocked because Rasmussen never used dope.... he just lied to his team so he was fired.... thats all.... |

I think its more of a shock regarding the fact that Rasmussen would be welcomed, considering the events during the '07 tour.

I think it's naive to believe that Michael Rasmussen will be in next year's Tour, cause I'm most certain he won't. The cycling world is just too bureaucratic for that to happen.

Dyn-EPO may not be illegal yet as the test for it is still being perfected, but it's still dope.

They never changed their minds on Unibet though, who were also a 'weapon' used.

And explain why Canyon.com wasn't allowed. Or the Unibet-jersey with a question mark. Both were perfectly legal. |

let's establish some facts before we continue this, shall we? no subjectivity, no opinion, just facts:
1. Rasmussen tested positive for Dyn-Epo during the Tour.
2. Rasmussen had a reputation as a doper as mountain biker
3. several sports have teams presenting online gambling advertisements in France and there's never been any polemics before Unibet joined the ProTour.
4. ASO had no problem inviting Unibet.com and it's predecessor MrBookMaker.com for several of it's events for years, until Unibet joined the ProTour.

In France thats true, but in Germany it is forbidden, Werder Bremen wasn't allowed to have betandwin as sponsor. But Unibet was allowed to take part in German races with questionmark jerseys anyway

Dane Michael Rasmussen returned a non-negative test for banned substance erythropoietin during this year's Tour de France, according to the French Anti-Doping Agency.
"Traces of Dynepo, a biosimilar EPO, were found in Rasmussen's urine," AFLD president Pierre Bordry said. "Rasmussen's test could not be declared positive because of the positivity criteria of the World Anti-Doping Agency."
An EPO test is deemed to be positive is the erythropoietin is obtained chemically but due to the fact Dynepo is made from human cells WADA fear that is could be mistaken with human EPO resulting in the "non-positive" result.
