now that you mention it, a one-off good day by one of the favorites (any of them) could seal the GC!
at this stage in the season, the Croix-fe-Fer is going to be quite some suffering...
oh, and another two abandoned today. both with stomach problems.
Valverde and Julich

With all of our pull outs and abondones we only have 4 riders left. Menchov, Weening, De Groot and Niermann. Although i think these were some of our best riders in the team and they could all help menchov so we have a chance. |

his jersey says "lampre"
it's Szmyd, but he only has the jersey because Moreau has the points. Moreau is KOM right now

Vino and Kash are nowhere near the front, and really don't look well (either of them).
Moreau, on the other hand, looks very smooth.

The peloton has lost alot of riders. There was a break at 6km up the first mountain and the peloton pushed the speed. Atm I can only see Menchov , I would of though Bram would have been able to keep up |

the break has 5 mins advantage at 50km to go, it's a break with very good climbers AND the peloton is very reduced.
because of all this, I doubt the break is going to get caught.

Once they get over the main climb we can look at this a bit better. If the big guns attack up the hill then its a whole new ball game.
Also there is another rab rider near menchov (i think its bram) |

HUGE attack by AG2R on the smallish Cat.4 climb...
Menchov, Zabriskie, Evans were not exactly dropped...more like surprised...but suddenly they're 200 metres behind!
pretty much only Moreau, Vino and 4 or 5 more are there.

and Vino has been dropped. predictable. only 12 guys in the peloton. only Redondo is with Kash.
Moreau is obviously going great and willattack soon.
well done by Vino. the moment he sees things getting too hard, he lets go. most don't do that and pay for it later (at the Tour).
