technically, is Cavendish British? since he's from the Isle of Man, I have no idea, therefore I'm asking.
Yes he is British. The Isle of Man is linked in like Wales and Scotland. I have no idea about all the technicalities but I know that the only time that the Isle of Man compete seperately is at the Commonwealth Games.

There you go:
The Isle of Man (Manx: Ellan Vannin) is a self-governing British Crown dependency, located in the Irish Sea at the geographical centre of the British Isles.
The head of state is Queen Elizabeth II, who holds the title of Lord of Mann. The Crown is represented by a Lieutenant Governor. The Island is not part of the United Kingdom, but external relations, defence, and ultimate good-governance of the Isle of Man are the responsibility of the government of the UK.

well, I've finally gotten some info on it.
it seems people from the Isle of Man are classed as british only if one of father, mother or grandparents have english, welsh, scottish, or northern irish nationality...
otherwise they are considered non british.
so he probably qualifies.
talk about weird status

I have no idea who Nathan Miller is, but his name sounds anything but Basque...

Not really, Wales is much further South. It is in the middle of the Irish Sea though

Its possible he is of Basque descent but was born in America. HIs parents may have given him an anglicized name. There are a lot of people of Basque descent in the US. the Bass player from Korn being one.
