we have David Millar who has a chance of a top-60
we have Charlie Wegelius who has a chance of a top 80
we have Bradley Wiggins who has a chance of a top 185
and we have Geraint Thomas and Mark Cavendish who have a chance of making it to stage 7 |

yes, i didn't exactly help the Brit side of things
even i'm getting slightly bored with over-hyping every Brit that has ever lived |

Well, who cares about having a bunch of riders who can't do anything? We have M. Rasmussen who will win the mountain jersey
He may win it, but he hasnt worn it yet. Unlike Millar
Ive gone off Cavendish a bit now Millar and Geraint for Yellow!!!!!!
Seriously though, it was nice to see Millar up the front with 1km to go, boosting his top 50 hopes. Hope to see Charlie doing better in the mountains - he's currently 28th in a TdF in a career Im simulating - and no stat edits.

Don't worry Brits, we're getting our lovely dose of disappointment - the over hyping is now over, the time for criticising has begun
Seriously, I think Addy has our goals spot on

Well Millar could aim for top 50, but other than that it is pretty spot on. Therell bew less than 185 finishers so if he finishes, Wiggins will get his goal. Thomas will hopefully get throught the alps. Cavendish will be this year's Kirsipuu for the mountains.
Our (slim) stage hopes all rest on Millar.

yes i think at the start of the TdF, we all slightly jope that Cav would get a stage win but now that seems pretty much impossible,
so yes Millar is our only hope, unless Thomas get in a break
i think Millar knows he is our only ope as well, he is certainly putting on a good show and trying decisive breaks like the one attempted today, he knows that he is the only one capable of delivering a win, i think |

I think i heard Phill Ligget saying that Michael Rasmussen was looking at the verall standings this year. I hink he has the best chance this year seeing as the montains are going to be much more critical than the tme trials. |

Even so, 2 50km+ TTs mean Rasmussen can not really have a serious hope for top 3.

actually, the mountains are quite less severe than last year.
it's about who can recover well, not through three weeks, but from day to day, since the TT+pyrenees are all bunched together and will form a massive, horribly difficult few days. the stages individually aren't as tough as usual. |

Nonetheless, it's true that MR has said that he will focus more on the GC this year. For the same reason, he hasn't been dropped on any of the stages yet. At this point, normally, he would have lost several minutes on almost every stage, but because of his GC hopes he's used energy on staying with the pack. |

Team Barloworld are putting up a good fight - All of them have completed in the alotted time including Thomas who is 21ish(age) and competing for top young rider in the Tour which if he pulls that of is a pretty decent effort. |

All the interviews i have read say that there are going to be a lot of tough dayds in the Pyrenees. Levi (<3) said that one day in particular was going to bust balls (7 hours) |

i agree entirley, Barlo have put in an admirably effort more than some ProTour teams in fact, not mentioning any names *cough*Bouyges*cough*Liquigas*cough*
and some others that don't spring to mind, but i disagree Geraint is competing for top young rider as he is there purely for the experience and if he makes it to Paris i think he will feel as though he has won it anyway

Liquigas have won a stage though Addy.
Yeh Thomas is not going for the White jersey, he is 26th out of 27 and over an hour behind Gerdemann. It is unlikely that he'll finish in Paris - he says he is not expected to.

not he isn't expected to, but i think he will have a lot of determination to finish and think that he may not drop out, i have a feeling if he does stop then it will be because of elimination or total blow-out/injury unlike Cav who didn't want to burn out
