so the olympic games will completely screw up the Vuelta and a few other races. riders basically have a choice:
ride just one of them and maybe do well, or ride both and suck.
it's a 7 hour difference in time. if you want to ride both, you'll have to cope with a lot of jet-lag, which will completely destroy your preparations. that isn't going to be good.
EDIT: when asked whether he'll ride the Volta a Portugal or the Olympic Games, José Azevedo answered "the Volta and the Vuelta". so that basically means they already know Benfica will be at the Vuelta.

By the way: Did anyone think about how difficult it will be to make a 2008 DB? |

yup. you can add the ex-ProTour races to the Continental calendar, but there's going to have to be some way to circumvent the fact that the ProTour will be missing races. not just from a classifications point of view, but also because of the invitation system.

And you will have to change the points scheme since the former PT-races now only will give 50 % of the original PT-points. And there will have to be a completely new race category for Tour de France. In fact, it's in the same category as the WC and Olympics, meaning national teams, theoratically, should participate in Tour de France. |

that's something for the modders to think about. and at the same time, something to force Cyanide to actually work on next year's version

I would have thought that they might have included the Tour of Calafornia in the Pro Tour, to replace Paris Nice sort of |
