Advice on buying my first race bike
mlminard
Almost 16. I'll start on a not so high level of racing but will try to become good. And is the triple crankset so heavy? I guess I should try to test ride it. And I wanna buy a new one. Not going to buy an already used one.
So do you have any advise for me for maybe another bike so I can try to test both of those bikes and see what looks best.

Good age to start racing! first of all look for any club teams in your area...maybe they can help with team discounts on bikes, components, other things..worth a try plus you'll be better off joining a team anyway. someone to train with and teammates at the races. starting from scratch, a triple might not be all that noticeable in weight..but when you start racing..you'll begin to feel the difference. yeah it wouldn't hurt to test ride but honestly..there is no reason to ever need a triple..unless your over 60, overweight and looking to be ridiculed. as far as new bikes..that's great. don't know what kind of budget you're working with but I would say around $1000 US is a good place to start. Any bike would probably be fine. bikes at that price tend to come with slightly better components than the entry level bikes..like the trek 1000 or base specialized. you'll get a great frame and fork at that price but the more you spend up front..you get better components. you can always upgrade components down the road too like after a year or two when you decide you like racing better and want better stuff. good luck, let me know if i can help any more.

mlminard is right, forget about a triple, especially in Belgium (would you be living in the mountains somewhere, it could have been different). Even a tourist like me did Alpe d'Huez, Tourmalet and others with a double. You've no need of a triple, really.
1000$ is 700 €, more or less, I'd say it's the lowest price you should start with, don't go under. 1000 € (1400 US$) seems more reasonnable to me.
There again mlminard is right, try to see if you could get discount prices with your club (you'll need a club to take part in competitions no matter what).

Any chance of getting a bike from them to Belgium? I mean, do they send them if you order them. I figured that it would spare me almost 300€ if I get it at Evans cycles
