the funds needed for the cycling worlds have been frozen.
this in no way means that the worlds are off. but it does look bad. |

I know this isn't news, but I think's it's great to show the American publics attitude to cycling.
Shown here is the 11 man break, containing riders from Navigators Insurance, Toyota United, Team Slipstream, Team BMC, Colavita-Sutter Home and Health Net, were forced to swerve aggressively as the Mack-powered semi-trailer - carrying earthmoving equipment - decided to disobey orders and pull back onto the road.
A race official following the break watched on in amazement as a clearly upset Navigators rider gestured at the rogue driver.

Greg Lemond:
Contador weighs the same as Rasmussen, and both climbed at the same speed as Pantani. That's sufficient for the red flag to come up.
also, the Deutschland Tour organizers have announced Astana is not welcome.
I would immagine they're also referring to the Vattenfall Cyclassic

Klöden says he'll retire because he's afraid of being arrested for doping. says he can't sleep because of it.

ASO have frozen the monetary prize that Rabobank were to receive due to the Rasmussen situation. a bit surprising...but then again, pretty much nothing surprises me after the last few situations
well...except for the Freddy Adu debacle...but that was different...
anyway...doesn't really sound fair to me. |

If he did that didnt work good...he was dificulty in climbs. Maybe the reason was that Rasmussen and Contador climbed with Pantani speed.
Like I sayd before Astana was taken just TT dope. |

The US public, for the most part, Doesn't give a shit. The real reason cycling has the decent size following is the fact that Lance won 7 times in a row. The trucker was probably unaware that this was a pro race and not just a group of club riders thinking they own the road. However truckers are crazy.
Actually you Euros might be suprised how many people are into cycling. In my local bike club there are more than 500 people. There are dozens of different teams and in SSR alone there are 5 bike shops, there is a race i go to each tuesday and a time trial on fridays. All this cycling stuff is why so many pros live around here (<3 Levi). Fast freddy, Chris horner, Riders from Healthnet, BMC Colavita sutter, Monex, and especialy Slipstream. Also there area butt load of junior developemant programs and these guys frequently go into cat 2-3 races and kick butt.
The moral of the story is that cycling does have its following and that following are all people who sincerely love the sport. Then of course there are people who don't realize that it is a sport. |
