Preud'Homme is annoyed that the news came now considering the Danish federation has known since June and Chicken was allowed to ride the nationals in July.
the festina doctor back from 1998 (days of the Festina scandal) says that Rasmussen's 400 watts of the day of his stage win are suspicious because that's what Virenque was able to put in back when he took 500 doses of EPO a year.
his words, not mine. |

I'm not saying that Rasmussen isn't doped -- I definitely think he is, but then again, I think they are all doped -- just that this issue has been handled very bad and unprofessional by DCU. |

Most subjects? What else than cycling?
Anyway, it might just be me. I just don't feel I have any reason to believe anything else after having experienced doping scandales ever since I started watching the sport. It doesn't make me enjoy cycling any less - I enjoy watching cycling a lot - I have just accepted the fact that cyclists need help to overcome those fantastic challenges they're exposed to. |

On the subject of riders doped, look not further than Cancellara.

By the way: Michael Rasmussen has received 4 warnings - 2 from DCU and 2 from UCI. If you get three warnings, it's the same as being doped = 2 years of exclusion. |

Rubbish.
I agree with isossisso, it is not good when people like you go around saying someone is doped, with maybe the only reason being that they do not like the rider.

Rasmussen said in an interview that several riders have said that they will boycut the Tour if Rasmussen is excluded.
ASO has already declared, though, that they support Rasmussen 100 %. |

Good. It would be a shame to lose him (unless of course if he is doped (which I very much believe he isn't)), and for once, I'm fully behind ASO.

appearently his defence is that is two warning for the SAME OFFENSE.
ie. double warnings, not 4 as such.
But its hard to know what up and down here..

Here's a story by velonews about a former friend that alledgedly found Rassmussen doping: https://velonews.c...851.0.html
These comments seem to show he's not being paid and making something up:
"Richards was offended, so much so that he contacted VeloNews later that same year. However, he asked that the conversation be off-the-record, declining to be named and asking that Rasmussen also not be mentioned in any way that he might be recognized. Because of those restrictions, VeloNews did not publish his story.
Several years later, after being put in contact with Sunday Times of London reporter David Walsh, Richards again offered details of the story, but continued to insist that neither he nor Rasmussen be identified. "
I think the story sounds legit.

Michael Rasmussen was in general a known dopie among mountain bikers. Therefore, this story doesn't surprise me at all. I don't think it will have any effect, though, unless some proof shows up. |

I'm astounded they don't test the Podium placers after every stage during something like the TDF. |

I couldn't help but laugh at Rasmussen's answer. he was asked if the story about smuggling dope into italy was true. his answer?
"I can't confirm it" |

Hey im not basing this on nothing. I mean take a look at the prologue, i mean ive seen him do fast TT before but that was maniac pace! i didnt take it too much because its the tour and it might got him fired up,but then i forgot which stage but he pulled away from sprinters who specialise that, and if i remember napolitino was looking at the other guys as if to say what is this guy doing! he has competed in other sprints aswell. Me personally i think most of the guys on the tour are using steroids, i think this sport has become tarnished.

Kai Reus has been woken up, and seems OK!!!
Rabobank's Kai Reus has come fully out of his induced coma, the team has announced. He was fully conscious on Monday, slightly confused, but able to recognize and speak with family and friends.
He is still suffering from a lung infection. The 22-year-old will have to remain in the hospital in Grenoble for an undetermined amount of time, and there is no prognosis for his rehabilitation. He suffered a brain haemorrhage, three broken ribs and a broken collarbone in a crash while training alone.
Great news
