Yeah, Azevedo never seems to get it right when he's the leader. But 2 years ago he was 5th overall in le Tour de France, while slaving away for Lance Armstrong. |

back when he was young it was the same thing. he could be in top shape, beating everyone abroad. whenever he got to the Torre climb he cracked early.
the only possible explanation is that it's psychological |

Pate 7th TT. Not bad for a rider from the only non-doped team |

Only non-doped team? They are the only non-doped team in USA, maybe...but in the next year you'll see how much they will dope themselves...

i don't understand why Liberty Seguros team doesn't choose Hector Guerra for the the overall and Barbosa for the stages wins!!!
Hector - overall
Barbosa - stage wins
it's simple!!!
A very disappointing Volta for a Azevedo and Benfica.
Hector didn't lead the team because he felt an lost a minute and a half in the 3rd stage i guess.
If he was leading he would win the Volta, easily. |

In Sra. da GraƧa he was helping Barbosa. He also fell after leanding Barbosa for the sprint winning (losing 1 minute, as u said).
But in the end(last Kilometer) of the Torre stage he was pulling so hard that Barbosa can't hold it. And he was ordered to get Barbosa and helping him.
But as i said before Liberty could have done an amazing Volta if they had chose Hector for leader and Candido for "free rider".

Like we say in my country:
You missed a good opportunity to shut up
Your assumption is based on NOTHING. |

actually, Gerolsteiner's Hans Holczer says what's worrying the teams the most at the inter-team meetings are the "strange" blood profiles that pretty much every portuguese, spanish and italian cyclist has, all the way down to the youth riders.
then again, considering the ProTour team that he supports, he did miss a good opportunity to shut up

I was thinking about Hector and I was wondering "what if" Hector didn't crashed the other day and what if he didn't stay behind to help Barbosa? At the end he was feeling better than Barbosa and he could have saved a lot of seconds in the process.
And also, what one of the commentators said: in the first stage Benfica managed to lead the pack and get a lot of riders loose on a 2nd pack. Among them was Tondo and other big shots. Nobody helped Benfica, so they got together with the pack again after some time.
What if situations... |
