Brian Holm said that he belived that Sinkewitch was " prize idiot" and perhaps a mental checkup is in order.
This could very well be the death of T-mobile and very very damaging to the other german teams as well..

It's bad for the entire sport. I mean, no more TdF transmission at German TV-channels also affects all the other teams (and more importantly, their sponsors). |

The doctor who's in charge of T-Mobile's anti doping system says that they don't test for testosterone. They only test for blood doping and Sinkewitz' positive test therefore doesn't prove that the system doesn't work. |

Ou dear..damn i'm really dissapointed. Rough time for t-Mobile fan like me..Ullrich is gone...we all doped in 90-s....Sinkewitz....Gonchar...it's really need to have big soul to cheer them on. I still hope..Italians and germans are now as known big doping users. I am loosing my patiente to get any news from spain (for me biggest dopers nest). |

But still... there hasn't been a contra-expertise. Maybe the lab made a mistake of some kind (although very unlikely) |

I'll just add this to what I previously commented:
what team did he ride for previously? exactly.
Edit by CrueTrue: For those who should have forgot, Sinkewitz rode for Mapei and Quickstep, before joining T-Mobile in 2006)

you're right, they probably meant mountain biking! that explains it.
I still think he's going to try to be in the team |

The news hit Denmark yesterday and is now a headline in all Danish media. DCU, the Danish Cycling Union, has decided to exclude Michael Rasmussen for everything related to the national team, including the World Championship and the Olympics, both the road race and the mountain bike race.
Why? Well, it's come to the media's attention that Michael Rasmussen has received several warnings from ADD (Anti Doping Danmark) and UCI. The rules state that a rider has to tell where he is at any time so the authorities can test him at any time - and these warnings symbolize that he hasn't done this everytime. Rasmussen had admitted that he has received one warning, but that it's due to the Italian postal service being slow -- so he calls it an admistrative warning.
Yesterday, Jesper Worre, the director of DCU, said that Michael Rasmussen has received more than 1 warning, and that they don't trust him because of his weird ways of behaving. For example, he changed his license to Mexican and told DCU and ADD that now they couldn't test him. However, last year he changed his license again to an European one, and they could test him again -- all were happy, but with these new warnings and with the exclusion, a new "war" between MR and DCU has started |

As a supplement to the MR story, This is just that latest shot in a long war between DCU and MR. MR has vocally critizied then for double standards on several occasions - mainly over the Hamburger case where he too was left out of a WC race because of past offenses.
I think this is just plain stupid. you shouldnt punish a rider who has a WARNING. Also that fact that is published during the most important race days of MRs life smacks of personal vendetta and not the right way to behave.
besides both Chairman Worre and Co Chairman Rasmussen has tested positive in their day, so sometimes its hard to take them fully seriously... But ehn, who, of the older riders hasnt...

typical personal vendetta.
bringing everyone down, including themselves and not even realising.
this always happens in every sport. it's just how people are... |

True. As zuptcorp mentioned, this conflict has been going on for many, many years - ever since MR was a junior mountain bike rider and wanted to try road race.
I wouldn't have been suspicious if the news were revealed later, but when these kind of informations are leaked during MR's "prime period", there's no doubt that it's a personal vendetta. |

the only thing I find surprising is that nothing big and scandalous came out the exact day before the tour.
call me cynical, but that's what I was expecting... |
