RESULTS - Australian Championships!
The Australian Championships have come to a close and it was a very very tight race.
The stage is a circuit race:
The 48 Riders started out the race on an amazing day:
As the race got underway, A breakaway immediately started by Joshua Pete of Team PSK - Whirlpool. Shortly after 6 other riders joined him including Mark Renshaw.
The race stayed calm for a while as the Breakaway got out to a lead of 4:00 with just 100km to go. The peleton seemed content with the lead as they just rode on:
With just around 80 km to go 3 additional riders decided to attack the leaders and they did catch them. With 50 km to go the leaders opened up a 4:37 lead.
Team Lipton Iced Tea decided to attack Michael Rogers incase the leaders would not be caught.
As Rogers was catching the Leaders an attack was launched in the peleton by Stuart O'Grady & Simon Gerrans with 32.5 km to go. Meanwhile, inside of the lead pack, an attack was launched as B. Lancaster decided to try to pull away by himself.
16 men were left in Chase 1 now 45 seconds behind leader Lancaster. The peleton was now 2:15 behind. With 18 km to go Team Lipton Iced Tea sees Cadel Evans with 1 attempt to catch the leaders. As he attacks Simon Clarke follows. As the action is going on in the Chase 1 a huge wreck occurs in the peleton. With 17 riders still in it the peleton was now 3 minutes behind with 12 km to go.
Attacks occur within the leaders as there are now 2 km to go. 4 Riders attack and are left to sprint to the finish.
RIDERS IN CONTENTION:
Spoiler 1. Cadel Evans (LIT)
2. Allan Davis (AST)
3. Simon Gerrans (SKY)
4. Richie Porte (SAX)
Coming to the last km Cadel Evans looks like he is going to get the win and celebrates but with 0.2 km to go a huge effort from Allan Davis gets him across the line with the win! Another crash has also occured as seen in the picture.
The Final Results can be seen below:
The race has concluded with a win by Allan Davis!

Actually if you saw my old roster i tried making it worse... Only 3 or 4 good riders in a race... excluding Grand Tours.

Suit yourself, I just notice that domination teams like this one, dont tend to last very long as a story since you win or come very close in everything, which is to be expected by all your followers, so even when you win a race it wont be as rewarding, and ultimately there will be less reward from your followers responses since most people wont say "fantastic result" or "you played that really well", since they already expect you to win everything, making it hard to feed off the responses of the followers, and thusly continue. But please, surprise me

I personally find small custom team stories interesting. By that I mean one distinct leader, and the rest just be a supporting cast who can grab a stage win or two. Also try to keep the team focused on one nationality, I find its more interesting having say an all french team, than a bunch of guys from all over Europe. Also dont cheat and use Artmoney, it takes away part of the realism of the story which people like. (I find it one of the most important parts of the story) Apart from that, get down a good layout for the story. You dont need super fancy graphics just organize everything so that its pleasing to the eye. Cunego59's Dominik Nerz Story is a great example of a great layout. Hope this helps a bit.

1. Yeah, its quite a detailed report.
2. You can't but I think you can request to have it locked if you leave a message saying so.

Are there even concurrents left to win grand tour races?
schleck brothers, evans, contador, horner, leipheimer
Anyway I think you did a detailed and good report, and I like the jerseys.
But I would suggest you have only 4 or five leaders maximum in your team. Two for grand tours, one for sprint and one or two for the cobbled classics. Those guys for grand tours can also shine a little bit in a hilly classic as well.
for example:
Thor hushovd
Tyler farrar
Schleck brothers
That´s four. U might need a good domestique for the mountains and one domestique for the cobbled races. U see what I mean?
You don´t have to win a lot of races to attract a good thread. Just do detailed reports and be clear with your goals. Just a tip.
No offense, you really did nice jerseys and so on. But I just love good stories so I just wanna give you good advices. Hope that you restore a more realistic team.
Maybe with horner, leipheimer, zabriskie and farrar as leaders, since yu wanna be an american team |

Some tips:
1. Stop pray about comments and attention. If your story is good and you keep it going for long you will get a lot of readers and loads of comments.
2. Write for an reason. Attention is an bad reason. I write to learn better english and because I love to write.
3. Skip Armstrong. It's alright with an Armstrong avatar if you like him but your spoiler in different coulor who says Armstrong is clean and the best probably annoys people. He is not the most popular cyclist now a days, and I think you now why?
4. Have patience. If you write your story for long you will gain attention.
5. Choose the team/rider you want but keep it as realistic as possible. Lance Armstrong makes another comeback in an super-strong team is not realistic. If you really like Armstrong I suggeset an idea: Team Trek-Livestrong with Armstrong as DS?

Sorry about the signature if it really annoys you but he is an idol of mine. A hot topic over here in the USA also... Thanks for all tips though... Thinking about a team with Horner, Leipheimer , Armstrong, Zabriskie.. and americans/canadiens..
Attention is not something i want as i also love to write.

Your signature doesnt bother me!
but what does bother me is that you havent posted for a while! what i like in a story is that it goes quickly and no gaps longer than 2 days in between stages or races! but so far so good and i will definitely follow only if you post more! |
