I'm proud to open new thred ..August news.
Most of all has cycling fan..I am worried about ASO acts even more then doping subject. They are now so agressive ..and split out on their mouth stupid ideas,after stupid ultimatums. When almost a 6 month. ago after first conflict I was kind of their side..then now I have to change that. |

yup, I should've posted this here:
Aitor González is going to trial. apparently he was caught driving under influence of alcohol and cocaine.
I was wondering what had happened to him.
he was suspended. then the suspension was overturned. after that I didn't hear anything else. seems like it's really hit him hard. |

And when Landis is cleared in the coming weeks I will have the biggest laugh. And since Armstrong is the most tested rider in history and never once failed a test, i tend to think he is clean. Shove that up your ass. |

I currently am substitute teaching. You find more balanced and fair discussion in elemetnary school playgrounds.
You might find more fair and balanced on fox news in fact.
With that said, I just read David Walsh's book. The evidence is circumstantial...but truthfully, it did sway me what I have grown to suspect that Lance cheated.
In the last book, Floyd comes across in better light. However, with that said, I've also read the results of his tests. If they didn't test other samples for synthetic testosterone, Floyd's case was a slam dunk. However, since they did test the other samples from the other stages, Floyd's case sunk.
As far as Lance goes, all these guys who he obliterated, have now all gotten caught. His story isn't complete, people know things...and we have yet to hear more. Being seemingly a great humanitarian, could anyone bring him down? Should anyone bring him down? Do ends justify means? I have no clue.
I still think the most interesting figure in this case is Floyd. Apparently he and lance did not get along on postal. Lance apparently maliciously sabotaged Floyd at times. Apparently Floyd has not ridden after postal ...with any juice. Apparently, Floyd was angry enough to take photos and evidence to protect himself against lance.
This might explain why lance is supporting floyd. I find Floyd's dilemma quite interresting. He's clearly in a lose-lose scenario.

look at it this way: if he's convicted, which is 99% certain, his most logical choice is to bring everyone down with him. especially Lance.
also, in a somewhat unrelated theme:
the scariest thought I've been having in the last few years is that all it takes is for one of the dozens of people who work in the labs to play God.
just one guy who doesn't like a particular rider and because of that, spikes one of the samples. the rider's life is ruined and he has no defence. there is no way to protect against that.

The antidoping establishement is a joke. Athletes have fewer rights than a death row inmate. Floyd Landis is fighting this injustice, and in Landis' autobiography Landis explains the problems in professional cycling from the view of a cyclist and a victim. When mercury went under and the team had no money to pay out Landis' contract he had to wait three years for his money, in the WADA community one lab cannot testify against another lab's finding (fucked up), and riders are not permitted to speak out against the UCI or they will get a 'warning.' (I bet Millar will get a warning for telling the UCI to "pull their fingers out" \
The system needs a complete overhaul. The UCI does not organize races so they should stop acting like they do. All the UCI does is take money from teams and athletes when their sole purpose should be to eliminate doping. What I say is you start from scratch. Take the Riders organization and the race organisers and get them togather under one roof. Then build an effective system of administration and doping control around the two things that really matter, the races and the riders.
This will never happen unless the teams come to realize that the way the UCI is going, there will be no cycling, because there will be no sponsors and so there will be no money, no money no teams, no teams, no pro cycling |

To me this sounds like an easy problem to solve. Somewhere along lines of different labs handling it and variety of people. Labs have become sort of the new referees...in almost all sports ...almost all referees are legit. Although, currently this is a problem, once its organized it shouldn't.
With that said, I dont even think its a bad problem now. If all of Vino's samples are positive (stages 13 and 15...both A and Bs for both), there is almost no chance things have been messed up that far. Plus it can be very hard to fudge up those results. |

Ryan Cox will get a memorial service on the Madonna del Ghisallo. for those who might not know, it's a climb that is a sort of shrine to cycling, with a small museum and quite a few memorials all along the climb. |

the worlds are going to go ahead after all it seems. the UCI has agreed to the locals' demands to double the number of controls there.
Italian national TT champ Luca Ascani tested positive for EPO. wow...an italian being tested in italy?  I can't believe my eyes...
