Welcome to the ‘Ulrich wanted a hilly NC’ edition of the US RR. There’s an interesting mix of puncheurs and climbers at the start – and Hecht who’ll probably win it in the end.
Still a bigger group enters the final climb together. Jorgenson leads the group.
He’s still in the lead with 600 m to go. Simmons, Hecht and Carpenter are behind him.
And Simmons wins it in the end! Carpenter and Hecht are next.
Congratulations to Simmons – and his manager who will be glad the profile didn’t hurt his chances for the title!

[NC] Time Trial
The favourites are Powless and Phinney, but there’s also bunch of riders one tier below them.
Mostov sets a first reference time in 1h04’08.
Eastman beats him by 4’’.
Jorgenson is 52’’ behind the lead.
But Daniel sets a new best time, 3’’ slower than the former one.
McNulty is only 4th at the moment.
Phinney has probably his last shot at the title today. He’s the fastest for now in 1h03’32.
But Powless is the party crasher and beats the best time by 52’’.
Congratulations to Powless, although it won’t console his manager for the past season.
