windows 7 should come with .NET 4, so you can't install 3.5

Yes: please do. I have spent most of the last two evenings downloading .NET installers and removers, and still have no joy.

But there are plenty other editors available, they are in the download sections of the older games but some still work, especially the advanced editor also called full editor, which has been programmed by Cyanide.

Hi, since I downloaded the update yesterday Lachi's editor has not been working for me. I am able to extract the relevant database but when I try to adapt anything, the following error box appears

What update do you mean?

I guess you typed that error message because it has an error. Just for the future, the error message can be found in the file called Error.txt

But the problem comes for a bug in an external tool I am using. Normally, this bug only gives problems after you installed a certain update from Microsoft.
An updated version to the tool would cost 1000$ so I do not plan to update.

If you don't want or don't can't to restore your computer back to previous state, then you have to use another editor, look previous post of me.

Can someone give me a quick 'how to' on this editor?

I never matters where you download something to, I guess you want to know where you have to extract it to. But that does not matter also.
You can start the tool by double clicking it like any other file you want to open.
The database is in a folder called database in the pcm12 folder in "my documents" if I remember correctly, but if you want to edit your save, then it would be here: my documents\pcm12\users\your name\database\solo\name of database\
When you are finished, you have to "export to cdb". It is recommended to give another file name just in case you messed up the editing. Another option would be to make a backup before you start to edit.

thanks. Just one final question. I have a career as FDJ Bigmat that I have just started. I have made a few alterations to player characteristics and saved the database, but when I reload the game the changes dont appear to have taken effect.

Also, can you tell me how to increase the sponsorship money the team gets? I appear to lose roughly £115,000 a month and want to change it to help me balance the books.

Database is the base for a career but will not be used in a running career.
Save contains all career related information.
I already explained how to edit your save.

Why not firing your staff if you are losing money?
If you want to cheat, then it would be in DYN_sponsor.

I followed your instructions to edit my save, but as I explained, it doesnt effect my game despite saving my changes.

I only have one coach and one doctor, who are both very average, and no coach, but I am still losing roughly £100,000 a month. By the time it gets to July I have -£350,000 and cant sign any new players or extend my contracts.

I have tried a career as FDJ BigMAt three times, but despite getting people in the top 10 of the GC in 2 of the Grand Tours each season, and winning my fair share of intermediate stage prizes and stage wins and smaller races (I won PAris-Nice with Pinot) I am still in heavy debt come season 2 and cant compete on enough fronts because I lose so many riders.

All I want to do is make it so I lose a little less each month. I think I could compete of losses of £30-50k a month, but not £100k. Its too much.

I think I will just try to edit the database and try a new career rather than trying to edit my existing game, as that doesnt seem to work.

I'm clearly doing something wrong here, but I cant see what for the life of me.

Trying to edit my save.
1. I close down my current game (career, FDJ Bigmat)
2. I open the editor
3. I extract my save database (save game 7 last modified today)
4. I edit the stamina of Pineau to 80
5. I save the database and close the editor
6. I restart my save game
7. Pineau's stamina remains unchanged.

Trying to edit the database.

1. I open the editor.
2. I extract the officialrelease.cdb database
3. I edit it. Just as a check I change the acceleration of francis mourey from 67 to 80.
4. I save the database and close the editor
5. I start a new career - using officialdatabase.cdb (its the only one there)
6. Mourey still has acceleration of 67.

I'd be grateful if you can point out what I am doing wrong.

Normally the sponsor should pay the rider wages plus a little extra (if you selected easy at the start of the career).
So I wonder why you lose 100.000 per month. Did you sign expensive riders?
To fix your problem you should first switch to € in the game option so that you can figure out how much you have to fix. Because the values in the save are in Euro.

BTW:
Editing the database will not solve your financial problems.
You should really figure out what you are doing wrong when editing. If it doesn't work with the save, it will not work with the database either.
Try this:
1. Start my editor
2. Extract cdb
3. Change the name of the first team you see to "TEST"
4. Export to cdb (give the file name "test.cdb"
5. Close my editor
6. Start my editor
7. Extract cdb called test.cdb
8. Check if the name of the team is still TEST

I've nailed it, I wasnt exporting my save to my save.

In my game I started on normal, and I hadnt signed any riders as it was season 1. I also didnt sign any staff, but was still losing roughly 100000 a month.

It's working now. I have also edited my sponsors so they pay about 60% more which seems to be about right.

Already setup editor and pcm12. All was great.

But yesterday I resetup my windows, and now have trouble with editor.
Download, extract - just fine, but click to LachisEditor.exe - and nothing happend. Absolutely nothing.
What I missed up?

Why should we know, you did setup your computer.
But make sure to have .NET 3.5 or later installed.
