Even though I've never really known much about Cox, it's still a shock.
This was before he died:
Team Barloworld's Ryan Cox is in intensive care following emergency surgery Monday to repair a bleeding artery, the team has announced.
Cox underwent surgery for a vascular lesion three weeks ago in Europe and returned to his home in South Africa to recuperate. "The South African cyclist's condition deteriorated on Monday, and he was rushed to hospital by his family," the team said. "After consulting with doctors, it was advised that Cox required an emergency operation to repair a bleeding artery."

Very Sad, very much takes away from the joy of the Team's success in the TDF.
Tribute PAge here: https://www.cyclin...7/ryan_cox
Addy FYI, from Cannondale(Bike partner)
Cox was born April 9, 1979. He turned professional in 2001, and has been a rider for Team Barloworld since 2003. He has had seven victories to date, with his most significant wins including the South African National Road Championship in 2004 and 2005.
Ryan's cycling palmares:
2007 - 2° [Giro del Capo (Rsa) - 2nd stage]; 5° [Giro del Capo (Rsa) - Overall standing]
2006 - 3° [Cape Town Tour (Rsa) - overall standing, Liberty Criterium (Rsa) - circuit]; 4° [Cape Town Tour (Rsa) - 2nd stage, Cape Town Tour (Rsa) - 4th stage]
2005 - 4* [stage Tour de Langkawi, overall standing Tour de Langkawi, Road National Championships, stage Qinghai Lake Tour]
2004 - 2* [Road National Championship, stage Giro del Capo]
2003 - 1* [stage Circuit des Mines]
When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like his passengers.

Team Barloworld has reacted angrily to suggestions that Ryan Cox's death was doping-related and that the UCI should investigate the matter.
Damn this is UCI terrible mystake. And they just startied to get some symphatie back for me (ASO idiotics atacks).
UCI cant act like ASO..they need to think first when they say...specialy on that delicate matter. |

Everyone knows why he died, nothing to do with doping.
