Freire, if motivated to sprint for 54th places as well...
he usually only sprints for victory.... |

I believe this year will be Thor Hushovds. He is the only CA rider worth mentioning, so he will probably have the support of the entire team.
I doubt Freire will make it through the mountains. I base this calim on utter speculation. It is just a feeling I have.
McEwen could also take it, but I just have this feeling that this year is Thors. He must be hungry. |

You're not the only one
I believe I actually read in one of the many Tour de France guides I bought recently that he's planning to quit halfway round to focus on his Olympic preparation. Of course, that was printed before Tom Boonen got suspended from this year's Tour, so maybe his plans will alter. |

I doubt Freire will miss the chance at the olympic title, otherwise he'd be my favorite.
McEwen getting past the mountains? doubtful.
So: maybe Steegmans, probably Bennati, hopefully Cavendish or Hushovd.

Cav is retiring halfway through isso, for the Olympics
I'd say Freire, I think he will still do all he can for the green jersey. If he doesn't want it then I'm hoping for Steegmans or Bennati.

Hushovd gets my vote, Cav won't stay until the end I don't think when he has the Madison to prepare for in August. |
