Napolitano's Tour of Portugal hasn't started very well: first sprinters' stage and he falls off the bike, doing a backflip before arriving on the ground.

9.3/10 for technique. 9.8/10 for nastyness.

Sure Lampre are happy about letting Bennati get away, how is he, is he still going to race

Actually Waghlon, I'm American, not British, and therefore that is correct.

The whole Lampre squad policed him back. he's back in, but I have no idea in what condition.

the race can be seen online BTW. every stage of it, on a portuguese public channel's website. good quality, too.

Waghlon: you're both right.

Lampre are killing themselves to force a sprint, so I take it Napolitano is fine and dandy.

In the crash, Napolitano broke the transmitter on his bike, so despite winning the sprint, the "official" classification doesn't have him listed

Well, its opposite sides of the spectrum for your two pro cycling friends, one is up there with the big dogs in Portugal, the other has a broken collarbone in Utah, seriously, one is riding great in Portugal and the other one is in a hospital full of Mormons, who would you rather be?

Two further things I love about the Volta a Portugal:

1. The stages are so late (to avoid the heat) that I just got home and will still be able to see most of it Smile

2. They interview a bunch of team DSs "on the fly". They just go up to the team cars and interview them. And the DSs actually are honest most of the time. which is cool.
Only Orlando Rodrigues (the former Banesto rider) isn't honest, but that's okay, because as dumb as he is, his opinion is irrelevant (he's the one man in cycling who may possibly be as dumb as Leukemans)

The barloworld idiot "lead-out" his sprinter all the way to the line...boxing him in the whole way....so his sprinter punched him
