I noticed we didn't have a thread for this amazing game! (Although it may be a bit late at his point)
I just got this version about a month ago and it's awesome!
I want to share how I'm doing and it's interesting to read how others are doing too! I can make this a general discussion thread later if needed/wanted.
I also tried the online mode where people join your game with Alakagom and I believe he really enjoyed it as well.
I'll start by saying I'm tying my hand at a 94/95 db back when Blackburn were a force. Hope I can do well
Edit:
Discussion is now about FM13, as it comes out very soon.

I've played FM for four years now I think. On FM 2012 am I in year 2019. But unfortunately, I've been unemployed for one year.
I started the career in Stoke and managed to take a sixth place the first season, the second season did I finish in seventh place. The third season, still in Stoke was going great. After 25 matches played, I was in second position, just one point after Man United. Manchester City were a flop so far. They were just in sixth place and were 10 points behind me. But then they removed Mourinho and gave me a great offer witch was impossible to turn down. I managed to take City to a third place and Stoke finished fourth. I stayed in City for two years and won the Premier League twice and won the Champions League final once, and lost the Champions League final once. Then I moved to the English national team instead, and took them to the World Cup in 2018. But that was going bad and I lost the first round in the finals against Ivory Coast with 0-5. Then I left England and no club wants to sign me.
It would be fun to have an online tournament? How many would participate?

I'm in season 2023/24 now, and been managing Karlsruhe for about 8 years. Took over the team in 2.division, on the brink of relegation. Now I'm in bundesliga, with a couple of third places, and I really crushed Marseille 8-1 over two matches in the qualification for champions league.
My squad's average age is 21 years, and I really enjoy to sign young talents, most of them for free, and turn them into stars. That's mostlly because of the shitty economy. The club does not generate much money on matchdays, since the grounds capacity is 29000, and I have a budget of about 600.000£. Luckily, a new stadium will be finished in about a year.

Just saw the Damned United, a pretty good film.
Its inspired me to start this game up again! I might actually try Leeds, or just start unemployed, and try to get a job in England. I want to try and become the most successful british Manager ever, and my plan is to dominate the world, and then on my downfall give Blackburn a little bit of glory.

Can you download new databases with the most recent transfers for this game?
If yes, when and where can you find it? (Anyone who dares to answer Google gets virtually punched in the face... =D )
I'm not planning on buying the new version every year. |

Usually, Sports Interactive comes out with updates after each transfer window. Search the home page

Took Seattle Sounders to the League, Open Cup double
Lost in the Champions League semi's to LA Galaxy, who did win it.
Montero scored 44 goals in 40 matches!
just about re-signed him despite interest from many high class european teams.
second season adding a second manager to try and take Montpellier to the french title
5games in and 5 wins. Except ive yet to play PSG, Lyon or Marseilles so its not that impressive

Won Euro Cup and the Olympics 2012 with England (GB at the London 2012) On my way to World Cup and try to win it by that... Because of me, Kyle Walker is at Barcelona and the best left defender in Europe |

On a second save with Liverpool, approaching January. Signed one player Nelson Oliviera, brought Robinson and Suso from reserves.
Currently sitting 4th in the league behind Fulham, Chelsea and Man Utd with Newcastle and Arsenal behind me.
My other main rivals for the CL spots are well behind Spurs 13th and Man City 9th.
Out of the League Cup in the Quater Finals to Man Utd and I play Leicester in the FA Cup 3rd round.
Currently using a 4-2-3-1 tactic.

DR Johnson
DL Enrique
DC Agger
DC Skrtel
MC Shelvey

AMR Henderson
AML Downing
AMC Gerrard or Suarez
ST Suarez or Carroll or Nelson Oliviera.

I play goalunited. For a free online game it's fine. You can buy credits to do things but I don't bother. |

I bought the PSP version last week. Started with Gateshead, my relatively local team - had I known I could have got even lower league teams I would have gone with Harrogate, my proper local team - and got promoted in the playoffs with a 5-3 win. It's great fun, but trickier than the PC version.
