Good show to the GreenEDGE team to not only win the TTT, but to also take white! Well done! Now to see if any one of them will be able to keep it after the ITT, which would be the biggest test.

Would be a heck of achievement if they were able to do that though, lol.

Potentially though I think he would struggle on the Muur van Geraardsbergen.

National Champion Durbridge, won the Circuit de la Sarthe with a bung knee apparently. I'd say a tougher field here, but it would be a huge feather in the cap for the young gun if he manages to pull a top 10 result.

1. Bos
2. Degenkold
3. Haussler

That was a really dangerous run-in. No one was able/willing to pick up the pace for a while and there was a lot of street furniture, so it is a miracle that there were no crashes.

Also Kittel punctured in the finale, and so did Phinney.

First WT-win for Bos. Celebrating too early almost caused Degenkolb to win.

Aaaand yet another badly timed puncture for an Argos sprinter after Degenkolb was unlucky twice in the Dauphine.
Would have been an easy win for Kittel in Dege's position.

Good sprint by Bos, although switching to him immediately instead of going after the AG2R man could have made Degenkolb win, but certainly nothing to be worried.

1. Marcel Kittel (Argos - Shimano/GER) 5h11'43"
2. Jürgen Roelandts (Lotto - Belisol/BEL) s.t.
3. Giacomo Nizzolo (Radioshack - Nissan/ITA)s.t.

Boonen finished 4th AND gained some bonus seconds along the way, making him the new leader.

It's rather "but" than "and", methinks Wink

Kittel was totally exhausted after the finish line, had to get from ~15th position with 800m to go to the front alone and went with 250m to go.
Roelandts initially was faster and ahead, but couldn't hold the speed long enough.

So I still somehow fail to understand why he's not on the Vuelta lineup.

There are some chances in the first week and he would still be more valuable than f.ex. the Chinese guy even if he drops out after the first serious mountains.

But well, on the other hand, Degenkolb could have a serious go at the points classification this year.

Argos decided before the Tour that Kittel would be their sprinter in the Tour, while Degenkolb would get a shot at the Vuelta.

Tbh I think Degenkolb is much better suited for this race than Kittel.

I agree, hence my last sentence. I'm fine with that decision.

But realistically, Kittel could "guarantee" 3 wins in the first week, while Degenkolb could still have a go at the rest of the stages, especially Barcelona and La Lastrilla.

(I just want to increase the amount of German wins in the Vuelta with that way of thinking Wink )

Isnt there a combined classification, which should be rather won by a climber like Mollema last year? Especially on this course.

Edit: Now i see there is points classification and all-around classification, but i believe both will be won by climber (point jersey by someone like Rodriguez...). Mollema won the points jersey last year even with less summit finishes.
