Well it was worth trying it  After all you are still a very young rider and are mainly in the Giro to gain experience 
The top 10 should probably be gone now, though, but maybe you have a shot at the KoM, would be a great goal too, especially in a race like the Giro (I always like fighting for the KoM myself ) |

I think KoM will be main goal now, although it's a hard jersey to fight for, and you can end up with nothing (if you battle for GC you can be 11th instead of 10th, but 2nd in mountain is nothing).
The 21 man group was possible because it was an excellent pace: not too fast that many can hold on, but fast enough that attacks didn't work. De Gendt rode excellent

Wait what's going on here? I expected at least 3 new stage reports today - where are they? I am deeply dissapointed  Tbh I enjoy a slower pace as I dont have much time to check up on the stories at the moment
I think going for an 11th place isn't worth that much either, I'd say risk it and go for the KoM But that's of course totally up to you
But I really like the latest developement, the two were nearly dominating before and this in their first real pro season.. It makes the story more realistic to also "fail" a little from time to time

Yeah, to be honest, if they'd continued with too good results, I would've lost interest myself. They can be future starts and big talents, but they can't win Giro in their first year, that's just not how it works
Busy day yesterday and busy day today, but I told you about the pace slowing down
However, I will possibly/probably race the next stage today (although I might go and buy a new piano, so I'll have to wait for that)
So for the first time in this story: thanks for the patience

Giro d'Italia - stage 15
Time for a new plan: I won't stop attacking until that Mountain Jersey hangs around my shoulders. There are many points to be earned today. 10 at the first mountain, 3 at the second, 5 at the third and the winner takes 15. I hope I'm game for it, but my youth should help me stay quite fresh and help me recuperate well. Tomorrow is a rest day, so I could give it my all today.
One thing I noticed today is that it can be beautiful living in Italy, just take a look at that house.
And then I'm off! Nobody had the intention of following, that seems to be a curse hanging over me. I seem to be destined to attack alone. But I won't let that stop me!
Yes, the full 10 points, we're off to a great start today.
I heard the news that Cordeel had fallen, that's too bad. But he's a big boy, he'll survive.
I take the next points as well. And I intended to keep going. I had a lead of more than 8 minutes, but Vacansoleil worked hard on reeling me in, and my lead was decreasing.
As I reached the foot of the final climb, I still had a small chance of winning this stage, that would be a great bonus!
But Vacansoleil had calculated perfectly as they were about to pick me up, only over a km before the finish.
By some miracle I managed to latch on to De Gendt's wheel as he sprinted me by. That way I took another 10 points for the jersey. Plus I'm second on a mountain stage in the Giro, this is excellent!
After the rest day I'll be wearing this beautiful jersey. I'll have a hard time defending it, though. But I got the entire team to help me, and I'm confident we will pull it off!
Because of some time gaps, I move up to a 13th place on the GC. However, if I'm going for this jersey, I'll have to sacrifice some GC places...

Thats a fantastic result!
If it were real, it would have definitely gone down to the wire and would have been really enjoyable. Unlike the actual Giro this year.
