I have finally decided to get a Desktop Computer.

I would like to ask though, do you think it would run PCM 2012 at the highest settings, I never could before..

I am not experienced with these all-in one desktops, what i do is to choose every component alone to fit together, there you will get the best performance result because i think they dont always do the best job in setting these set-ups, as they could include what they dont sell much or so...
But that is the case in central europe, dont know how it goes in US with market full of those apple shites.Pfft

You won't be able to play on max graphics without a graphics card. Integrated graphics will just draw it from your RAM which also has to run the game. To be honest I'd be surprised if you could run the game at all with that.

I am afraid to say, that I dont think you will ever find a new or even refurbished PC under $500 that would be able to play PCM at Max settings. If you are wanting a gaming laptop, an All-in-one is not the thing to look at (they are a bit gimmicky anyway, imo)

As for what Count says I tend to agree. You wont get much better than what you have now. You can probably play the game though.

Why everyone is buying a laptop? If you want real gaming experience, buy a desktop. I have 4 years old gaming PC where i chose every part of it,costed around 700-800 dolars and when i run the benchmark tests, it is better than most of the nowadays "gaming" laptops, because you simply cannot have the big and heavy parts in the laptop, my GFX card is almost as big as the laptop Pfft
I can run pcm 2012 on max settings on it...

You cant, as they gave me parts list in the shop (30-40 pages) and with the help of my friend, IT expert, we chose the part by part and than they built it from my list for me.Smile

I dont know the prices in US, but in central Europe you can purchase very good gaming pc for around 1000 dollars without display,i guess it will be cheaper in US.

But i would look for something like this:

-Intel quad core
-Asus motherboard
- DDR3 RAM from 4 to 8 GBs
-Nvidia GeForce GFX card with 1024MB
-WD or Seagate hard-drive
- Corsair or Coolermaster power supply

You can build a passable mid-range desktop for 6-700 that should run PCM '12 at reasonable settings. Not including monitor, of course. Smile

Get an ASUS G53S laptop! I bring it with me everywhere and it runs PCM12 perfectly!

Absolutely right, my desktop is in my father's house and it is 3-4 years old (not sure) and it still runs PCM at max settings. Maybe next month I'll bring it to my place Grin

It will always be cheaper to get it from a local shop or (if you are confident or have a technically competent friend) to buy the parts and build it yourself. Buyin pre-packaged deals on the internet will cost you more because you have to factor in much higher labour costs and other value added stuff.

If your budget and tech ability allows, I would recommend you avoid any pre-built PC from a store like Best Buy or similar. You'll pay very high for significantly less power/capacity.

Is the idea of building it yourself off the table?

Or he will pay for things that he doesn't need like extra Ram per example.

Unlikely to find a store-bought PC with excessive RAM here. Typically they'll come with 4-8GB of slower memory. However your point is valid, no one needs two optical drives, 'free' subscriptions to various software vendors, 2-20GB of pre-installed bloatware, cheap and nasty mobo and PSUs that aren't going to last too long under stress and an underpowered video card all priced up for your convenience.

I was talking about Portuguese shops. Those are the ones I check regularly. Also, PC's with 2 TB of HD. I mean, my desktop has 1 TB and It is too much. I use about 200-300 (when it's full of games). There many other things but we all got the idea.
