Any expectation (from experience) if these updates are likely to change the actual structure of any DB tables? Not the content itself (i.e. values) but actual layout?
It was eleven more than necessary.

Is there a way to check which version of the game I am running?
I would like to know if I have been automatically patched whilst away from my computer today. I have the steam version. |

Nothing about idiotic profile zoom, nothing about stage info under space bar, nothing about sprint-train bug when you can prepare train only after last mountain finish... blah... this will be probably last patch, im not impressed.
However fix bug with signing rider if you have full squad - revolutionary mental approach. I was thinking that this is something like watermark and never will be fix.

For us Steamers, go to your steam installation folder -> Steamapps -> commonapps -> Pro Cycling Manager 2012 (or something, can't get the exact path for you guys as I'm @ work)
Then right click the pcm.exe and properties. Go to details tab and you will find a version number.
Just checked this morning to be sure I had 1.2.0.0 in there as steam doesn't keep record of the updates for PCM12. |

Normally you don't have to restart, this is very rare in fact. Cyanide does announce it when releasing the patch.
But to profit from all changes in the patch you have to start a new career using the DB which came with the patch or a DB which is compatible with the patch.
let's hope so |

@ everyone who wants to know of he needs to start a new career:

All the fixes are retro-compatible with careers already started, except the followin :
Plannings season 2 : World Tour invitation are ok, except if the invitation date has already passed.
Transfers : top riders as free agent may still happen if your season is after the Tour de France. If you're before, no problem.
U23 races : Check in the young riders calendar if the races are good or not. If not, a new season has to be started to have the good stages (or edit STA_stage).
Money and sponsor objectives : It needs a career start. If you're fine with your curent career, you don't need to restart !
@ the stage makers and DB builders:

Note that now you must use the Mod/Stages path to add the variants. CM_stages files are required to be the orginal ones for Armada.

Just loaded up a fairly few teams to see what their sponsor goals were like. The Continental team goals are vastly improved. Some of the better teams like CCC mostly had goals in .1 races and a couple of .HC races (and even in those they were usually top 10s or stage wins, just like in real life). I then loaded AC Praha and their goals were almost entirely .2 races and either top 10s or wearing certain jeresys. That is a huge improvement.
EDIT: Oh and when I loaded AC Praha, they had 3 regional staff members and 1 national, so clearly that balancing has worked quite well too.

You mean they have really improved the team goals? Wow, I really thought I'd never see that happen!

Its been available for the time enough for me to try 2 stages, and the results where almost noone sprinters dropped in 2 HC climbs. Before the patch 1.2 that didnt happen, but i hope that those where just 2 unlucky tries! |

Just ran through the stage to La Toussuire with the Official Release db to make sure that it wasn't a DB issue. I admit that I did 8x it. I was Argos - Shimano and just let my guys fall off the back of the pack to see what the AI could do. The race stayed together over the Madeleine. On the Croix de Feu the race broke up and 81 men went together over the top. This grew to 112 on the decent, almost all of the riders in the pack were >71 mountain at this point. By the base of the Touissuire, after the small climb I forget the name of, it was down to 67. The pack was caught only a couple of km into the climb. Then the pace rose and Contador attacked 12km out. Evans started to set the pace and only about 30 riders stayed together. Then there was a flurry of attacks from Froome, F. Schleck, Rolland and evans. Nibali set the pace for a while, then he VDB, Wiggins and A. Schleck all attacked too. Contador took the stage, barely bating Evans. But here are the exported results:
| 1 | Alberto Contador | Team Saxo Bank | 4h54'54 | | 2 | Cape Erwans | COM Cycling Team | + 8 | | 3 | Chris Froome | Sky Pro Cycling | + 21 | | 4 | Franco Stark | Radiocash - Sun | s.t. | | 5 | Pierre Rolland | Team Europcar | s.t. | | 6 | André Stark | Radiocash - Sun | + 50 | | 7 | Bradley Wiggins | Sky Pro Cycling | s.t. | | 8 | Jurgen Van den Broeck | Lotto Belisol | + 1'13 | | 9 | Vincenzo Nibali | Liquigas-Cannondale | s.t. | | 10 | Joaquin Rodriguez | Katusha Team | + 2'15 | | 11 | Denis Menchov | Katusha Team | s.t. | | 12 | John Gadret | Ag2r La Mondiale | + 2'32 | | 13 | Omar Zopeldia | Radiocash - Sun | s.t. | | 14 | Thibaut Pinot | FDJ-BigMat | s.t. | | 15 | Robert Gesink | Rabobank Cycling Team | s.t. | | 16 | Hubert Dupont | Ag2r La Mondiale | s.t. | | 17 | Jean-Christophe Péraud | Ag2r La Mondiale | s.t. | | 18 | Roman Kreuziger | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | | 19 | Ryan Hispedal | Gamin - Gouda | s.t. | | 20 | Bauke Mollema | Rabobank Cycling Team | s.t. |
Nothing out of the ordinary there (apart from the stupid names obviously). so yeah, maybe this was a one-off too, but everything seems fine there. The top 50 at least are all climbers and plenty more just below that.
